Now that the ladies event is over...

Bondo point was that it was a good thing that MK dropped out b/c she would have never beaten Emily. Well, obviously not a unhealthy MK, but I'd guessed that Bondo meant that a healthy MK would not finish behind Emily.

I had also posted that a Worlds 2004 MK would have beaten Emily at the Olympics this year based on the points alone. Keep in mind that the Worlds program was not adjusted for CoP. (It's too bad not many people know what MK's program had for this year either.) But I think the scores alone proves that MK had the potential to not only beat Emily but Kimmie as well. As for medal contention...that's a harder one. It depends on what was in her short and long program and how she would have skated. But I think MK would stand a good chance against the top 3. She's far from being that old "washed up" hag that a lot of people says should "Hang up the skates already." Far from it!

Too bad.... it would have been a very interesting Olympics this year!

hahaha....if the piano music competitions still awarded highest marks for flawed pieces, then that would be really something.

The skating competitions should be along the same lines as a formal classical music concert....the soloist must play perfectly .... any flaws in the playing will mess up the routine. And that's what happens when a skater puts their hands down, or faulters. Flawed routine. Low score.

I can play chopsticks perfectly, that doesn't make me a good piano player.

Go 'try' enter yourself in a international piano competition with the stock standard chopsticks piece. Show us proof once you've succeeded to enter the comp, and proof that you played in that comp.

There is an assumption (in both piano and figure skating comps) that we're all human and are bound to make mistakes. In this ladies comp, it wasn't a matter of someone putting together a perfect program, but more the one that SUCKS the least are the ones that stays at the top. This, all the more makes me sad that MK dropped out.
