scratch spin free leg position at the end

I’m finally getting the scratch spin! My problem is though is that I chicken out as I begin to slide my leg from the knee down the skating leg (I’m ccw). I mentally see this image of getting all twisted up. My coach is away and I would like to work on this over the weekend and maybe surprise her with this when she comes back. Maybe someone can help me. Where should my right foot rest in the last position before I exit the spin? I’m also concerned that the hooks of my boots will get caught with one another…should I be wearing OTB tights??

Thanks!!

THe inside of my left toe is all gouged up because I seem to stand my R foot on top of my boot as I spin
One thing that helps me (and I keep forgetting to do as I'm whirling around) is after crossing the free leg at the shins I then need to pull the free knee front so the knees are sort of lined up before pushing down. "squeeze the knees". This may be a guy thing.
