How do you mean "Like other skaters do"???? Since when - this is a strictly amateur sport, and the only skaters who get paid are those who skate professionally. The likes of us spend more than we can afford.....

There is no prize money on offer, only medals or cups. This applies to any discipline, whether figure, dance or synchro. Speed skating may be different, I wouldn't know, but I highly doubt it since it is run by the same body.

I think that FSWer is thinking about the prize money that comes with winning Grand Prix events for singles, dance, pairs.

The top Senior teams (I don't know what the cutoff point is) get some sort of training fee from the USFSA...oops...USFigureskating, but as far as prize money goes, there is none.
