discontinued Riedell model 298 limited gold medallion

Does anyone know anything about how much comfort/padding the discontinued Riedell model 298 limited gold medallion offers? The website says the boot compares to the current model 280 bronze medallion My current skates do not have enough padding and i get blisters on my achilles(did i spell that right?) tendon...any info would be greatly appreciated! :-)

It sounds to me like you just need a better fitted skate boot, do your heels slip up and down inside your boot? It doesn't really take that much movement to cause blisters on the back of the heel. Most padding in stock skate boots will be 'heel huggers'/ankle tendon padding that helps cushion your ankle and to seat your heel into the correct position in the back of the boot.

Make sure your skates are fitted correctly by coach/pro skate fitter and try bunga pads to help relieve some discomfort in the meantime.
