help! picking straight,and kicking straight on waltzjumps

hey! im new to skating forums, so i wondered if anyone here can give me some tips on how to pick staight, and kick straight. you see my coach wants to start me on my singles so, i need to work on them. also any ideas on how to keep one foot scratch spins consistant?

p.s im a 16 yearold female whose been skating for 3 years.

For picking straight, try to think of picking to the inside of your big toe. Turn your foot out slightly. On toe loops and flips, the curve of the entry edge will end up straightening out the pick in. Try to reach back as far as you can.

Consistent spins require practice, practice, practice! But a good general tip is, take your time on the entry. So many people fly into spins hoping to spin faster, but it actually screws up the position. A good straight back and steady movements help also.
