We're watching a Rhythmic Gymnastics competition (World Championship? European Championship?) from Moscow at the moment - and, what I hadn't realised, is that skating dresses get used in other sports as well, since they are all wearing dresses that would look far from out of place at an ice rink!

And then people complain that ice-skating "isn't a sport" because it's done in pretty frocks instead of leotards......
