Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!

Yesterday, I FINALLY passed freestyle 3!

And today, for the first time since my ankle injury, I landed not one, not two, but over 10 loops! I was on an open skate in the center, and thought what the hey, let's give 'er a try, and bam! I landed one! Then two, then more. Any time anyone asked me to prove that I had landed one by landing one in front of them, I did!

A year and a half of frustration... lifted!

Thought I'd share.

Yay, Mel! That was about where I was when I stopped skating (though I've never yet landed one)--I know exactly how frustrating it is. What an achievement--go out and celebrate!

Yippeee, Mel! Does that mean you are going to compete again? It was soooo cool meeting you at Grand Rapids last year!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! Congrats, Mel!!

Will we be seeing you at Grand Rapids this year?? I'm competing in Adult Bronze this year, so we might even be in the same group (along with Denise!)!

My best wishes! Enjoy FS3 -- it was a nice competition level. The Loop jump is my all-time favorite -- congratulations on mastering it so well!

Congratulations, Mel!!

I've been working on that jump for over a year, and I finally reached a point where I was landing it more than once a session when I had to put all my focus into the Pre-Bronze moves. Today, my coach and I were both pleasantly surprised that I could still land it, albeit on my toe.

Mel that is so wonderful especially with your ankle injury!!!! Isn't it amazing that time away from something actually makes it better when you start up again! You have every right to be proud of yourself and we look forward to glorious reports in the future. 10! My goodness!!

wow everybody, thanks! I'm crossing my fingers that Saturday wasn't a fluke, and I will be able to do these again during my lesson tomorrow.

techskater, are you the one who gave me the little stuffed cow? I loved it, and so did my bulldog puppy . I value the friendship much more tho'... and yes to you and flying~camel, I will be at GGR this year, I am competing in the compulsory event and bronze freestyle. Denise and I were going to ask the org. committee to add an adult artistic/interp event, but they submitted information early I think because of the Champions Series. I am going to request they add it for next year.

F/C - I will probably be coming into GR early because of wedding prep for my sister and because I will be without ice for two weeks prior to the comp . I will be hopefully hanging out at my ol' home rink for the week prior to the comp, and at my sister's the week before. With MS preggers, I wouldn't dare impose on her hospitality this time around.
