And I am judging! Working on that stern look as we read.

Sneer a little bit when a frightened skater dares to peep at you in the judging stand. That will make them feel so much better!

Yay! Mary Moss sent out the list of competitors, which is nice to have in advance (though so many new names I don't recognize . . . new blood! Yay!). And it seems they moved the Golds apart, so that's good.

14 Biggest Mids group that I can remember. Lots of names I've never heard.

Same here. Besides Jenny, Leslie and myself, I've never heard of the other three ladies in the Champ Int/Nov group.

New blood!

I hope the ref expects to run behind on Sunday because the other two sections have 1 and 2 more respectively and have 20 additional minutes!

I think the other two sections will run ahead.... more than 4 minutes per skater for a 2:40 program using 6.0 is an eternity!

Save a stamp!

The AN LOC Chairs will be at Mids in 2 weeks (as spectators; none of us are competing), so if you have any forms you need to turn in, you can save a stamp and just give it to me there.

We'll be the loud, annoying ones with the West Michigan Adult Skaters banner

I suspect the other refs took into account sweeping.

Can I give you the program info that's due on the 15th then, or would you rather that be mailed in by the 15th?

You can just give it to me there!

We're going to bring some extra blank copies of all of the forms, too, just in case people forget

Nah - that's half of the fun.

Whoever threw me that beanie last year that got stuck in the rafters at Vets - well, it's still there!

LOL! I almost had one stuck on top of the net at Vets, but someone shook it down for me!

No need to worry about nets at ANs - they're only up on the ends of the ice!

I was able to launch stuffed roses over the nets at NYI after my training buddies did their free dance. They were very aerodynamic.

Will anyone from the Troy comp in April be at Mids to collect applications (no biggie I can mail it in when I get back if not)? I'm still undecided on whether or not I'll do it, all depends on how I skate at Mids and whether my events at the Cleveland comp in March will be held (schedule for that should be out soon, guessing I will be able to do interp because 2 bronzes from my club signed up so there are at least 3 of us, but prob not free unless the local silver V man signed up and we'll skate against each other).

I think w.w.west will be at Mids taking apps for the A4A competition.

I need to turn mine in, too! I'm doing Bronze compulsories & A/D Interp.

I'm doing my very first ever pre-bronze free skate at the A4A competition, so I hope there's at least one other competitor in the event. I'm "skating up" to it (unless I have by some miracle passed pre-bronze by then) and will have minijumps at best (waltz, half flip, falling leaf, MAYBE toe-waltz), so if someone out there at this level wants a first place finish, they're pretty much assured one if they enter this event with me!!!

Well, here's hoping I can make it and don't have to withdraw. They are looking at 6-8 inches of snow in our area between Friday night and Saturday afternoon, and I cannot leave until Saturday morning at the absolute earliest. Frankly, since it was already going to be a difficult drive with a 6 month old in the backseat, I may have to back out.

Playing it by ear . . .

I was going to leave Sat morning (my first event is 12:42 and it's only a 2.5 hr drive for me)...but with western Ohio/S Michigan getting all that snow tomorrow morning, I'm going up tonight instead. We got hammered with snow last night but it's pretty much cleared up now, so better get there while there is a break in the weather!

I think I'll be fine!

I'm leaving Chicago right after lunch, before the Friday-night storm is supposed to get here. I'm heading east to MI so's I can race away from it!

I worry about people flying in from states further west....
