Hooray for Skateguard! (& me too!)

*sorry, had to do it....*

Skateguard passed her Swing Dance today! & skated very well too!

I passed my European & Tango--failed the American--got too close to the wall in one corner on my solo & tripped over the next 3-turn while trying to fix it......but I was very proud of myself for going out there on my first solos & living to tell about it! Next time will be better.

pssst: solos aren't that bad--it's just like when you practice every day! Really no big deal.

Congratulations to you both!! and backspin -- don't worry, you are not the only person to have trouble with the wall on the American. I myself hit the wall with my freeleg on one of the corner turns (with my partner, thank god -- the rink had different corners than the one I practiced the dance in) and a good friend of mine hit the wall on her solo and went down -- the judges let her do it again and she hit the wall again! Bam, she went down!

The American Waltz: deceptively simple. (NOT!)

Yes, the ankles were pretty okay. I took some painkillers beforehand, & though I could feel them, it wasn't bad enough to hold me back during the tests. Now I can take it a little easy & let them heal up more.
