Dumb question: what exactly does LOC stand for?

Sort of embarrasing, but I don't know & it's driving me crazy! I get what it means--the committee in charge of a competition, so what do the letters stand for?

Location Of Championship?
Location Optimization Committee?
Any other guesses? (or real answers)

LOL...

It stands for Local Organizing Committee.

But I like your options - I always thought it had something to do with the Olympic Committee... like at your home club... made no sense.

My first thought was Loss of Consciousness Definitely not good in a skating situation!

I've been reading too many medical records lately...
