Share your off-ice training program!

Have you got an off-ice schedule? Share it with us!
I have just made myself a training program and I'll review it here after a week.

Meanwhile, if you're stuck for inspiration or need skating related exercise only, consult http://www.icextras.com/office.htm which has 3 off ice training programs for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

Wow, that looks like a LOT written down. Me personally - I stretch every day, and do 100 sit-ups on Tuesays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Then I stand on one leg (both legs) for 1min in the mornings and 1min 30 secs in the evening. 40mins swimming every Wednesday, and my group skating lesson every Thursday for half an hour. I usually stay on for another half hour afterwards, and if I'm REALLY lucky I might get to skate on Sundays.

Does balancing on one foot while you wait for the bus or doing waltz jumps in the living room count as an off ice workout?

But seriously, I do work with a 5 lb ankle weight. Leg lifts and that sort of thing. It started as PT for my knee, but then my right leg started getting more definition with the muscle I was building, so I started doing everything with my left also so I would be balanced. Does that count?

I'm an exercise freak and always have been (yet I'm still overweight) so I don't know if this is specifically for skating but it keeps me sane and doesn't hurt my skating.

I work out every morning M-F with light weights and basic calisthenics. I take ballet three days a week, run 2 days a week and stretch every other day.

I do a weight training program on T and Th followed by Pilates on both days. I also do jump walk thrus on the floor, footwork on the floor, and stretch after I have skated for about 10 minutes.

I am pretty much an exercise freak too - so this was mostly stuff I did before learning to skate too:
1. 3-4x per week 1 hr strength training - free weights and machines, total body including abs
2. 1x per wk 1 hr pilates
3. 5-6x per week run 5 miles
4. Trampoline (jump training/ aerial awareness) 1-4x per week if weather allows usually around 30 min
5. stretching 4-6x per week
6. On weeks w/ more free time - 1 hr plyometrics 1-2x per week
7. I skate 4-6 hr per week

I don't have a very good off ice program - I'd like to develop one this year though. For now my excercise looks like this:
Monday - 2hr Inter/Adv Ballet class (not at rink but at local dance studio)
Tuesday - 3.5hr skating practice with 30min private lesson (usually take 20 min break for lunch)
Wednesday - 4hr skating practice (usually take 20 min break for lunch)
Thursday - 1.5hr Inter Ballet class (not at rink)
Friday - 3hr skating practice with 30 min MIF group lesson and 30 min Cardio class (usually take 20 min break for dinner)
Saturday - 1.5 public session
I try to stretch at home too and sometimes at the rink. Cardio is a great class. We work on endurance for programs. Like tonight it was 2mins on, 1 min rest, repeat four times. The two minutes on were back crossovers as fast as you can go. The rest we take our pulse and keep moving slowly. The class started at 1:30on, 45sec off and hopefully we'll get to 4mins by next fall!

I don't do much, although that really should change. At present I only do 100 sit ups a day, some days I can't be bothered but generally that's it. I also power walk to work (on non skating days), and sometimes back.

When it gets a bit nicer weather I may well start jogging. I am considering getting a skipping rope too.

I think my exercise program would actually be considered PT but it was only slightly different before the surgery:

MWF: Skate(FS/moves), weights for 45 minutes, pilates for an hour.
TR: Skate(figures/dance), ballet/pointe 1 hour
On fridays 1 hour bikram yoga, 2x a month theraputic message.
Also do pilates routinely at home with reformer and cadillac (not the car) in basement. Have a list of hip capsule opening exercises. New exercises added constantly chasing after 2 new kittens who think they should be free.

I work out with resistance cords and a Theraband, do some Pilates-type stretching exercises for my back, not enough stretching, and masses of abs exercises! Sometimes working on a gym ball, other times just plain vanilla crunches and/or leg lifts, other times using one of those rollers that you push along the carpet and would be far more motivating to use if they swept it while they were at it!
