Thank you! When I was in high school in the early 1960's, the boys got everything athletic. We girls were totally ignored. I'll never forget in Jr. High, when the boys were outside probably playing football, we had baton twirling

A search on google revealed an interesting educational site for those wanting to learn more about Title IX legislation & history, with other links:
http://bailiwick.lib.uiowa.edu/ge/ my 2 cents worth Still amazes me that funding for sports at my daughter's school is boys = football/baseball/basketball etc girls = cheerleaders, then some of 'their' sports (in that order) and when budgets run tight, the girls' sports get cut first, then the arts, then cheerleaders, then band..... I do believe they would cut teachers, electricity, bussing, school lunches, THEN boys' sports. Ok, I'm done ranting. off my soapbox. (yes, the school board knows how I feel )
