I read about these in this morning's L.A. Times (http://tinyurl.com/9gtvdu), and the product seems perfect for skating. They warm up the knee joint and as the article says are "especially valuable at the beginning of the workout, when the joint's natural lubricant production hasn't yet kicked in."
