To all our Synchro. Skaters here. What is the story behind your Team name?

Say, this is a follow-up to the "what is the story behind your username" thread. But if you CAN post it,I was now just wondering what the story behind all our Synchronized Skaters Teams names is?

its not a synchro team, but its the "team" at our rink. all of the competitive skaters take from the same coach and we're all really close bc we spend a lot of time together. like, over the summer our coach ran a sort of "camp" where we would get there at like 8am, do off-ice from like 8.30 to 9.30, skate from 9.30 to 11.30, eat til 12.15, do off-ice til 1.15 and then have a sort of "group lesson" where we would line up and each do jumps and stuff. we travel and room together at competition and we're just really close in general, so we're practically a team.

well, our team name is "team lee-o-tard." our coach's last name is lee. then i guess the "tard" part came into existence a few years ago when one of her students who was like seven started laughing because you could add "tard" to the end of the coach's last name lol.

we've developed "tard" into an acronym for "together always ridiculously driven," but using tard as a shortened version of "retard" works just well for us too lol

Some years ago the adult skaters at our rink got together to do show numbers for a couple of competitions, and called ourselves "Roland's Rinklers" - Roland being the coach, and "Rinklers" a pun on "Wrinklies" (slang term, at the time, for people our sort of age).

Oh, and another synchro team that got together for at least one, if not two competitions called itself Team MANIC. Manic didn't refer to the nature of the skaters, or even of the team captain - it stood for Met At Nottingham Ice Camp, where the idea was born....
