Up by 4 a.m., out of the house by 5. An hour's drive to the city, a coffee and a breakfast sandwich at Tim Horton's at 6 a.m., at the rink by 6:15. Fifteen to 20 minutes for warm-up and stretching, put on skates, and on the ice for 7 a.m.

For years I got up at 4:30 to make a 6 a.m. session, but we don't have early morning ice at our rink any more. Everything is in the late afternoons now, except on Saturdays, when we have ice between 8 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

4 am for the 6 am session. I'm still recovering from May when I was getting up at 3:30 am for 5:30 sessions! That was bad - I still remember the day the session started at 5 am for some reason and later that afternoon I got my hair cut and all I remember was closing my eyes after she washed my hair and then hearing - "What do you think?" --I had not only slept through the cut but the blow drying as well!!!

I get up at five, leave at around 6:20, get to the rink around 6:50 to be on the ice at 7 (when I need to be there at 7 which will be as of next week). I really have to rush in the morning because my dog needs medications and there's a whole process. But I can't bear to get up earlier.

I don't skate in the mornings! There aren't any sessions at our rink that are earlier than the time I have to be at work (actually the rink opens an hour after I've already been at work).
That said on weekdays I skate I usually get to the rink after work at about 5:00. And on weekends I skate at 9:00 am saturdays, and noon on sundays.

10pm for 8am ice. lol: I work an overnight shift so I wake up, go to work, drive an hour-plus to the rink, then drive one or two hours (depending on which rink I'm at that day) home to go back to sleep! (Although sometimes, I do run errands on the way home, too.)

Up at about ten past six (Husband gets up first so I wait until he has finished in the bathroom), ideally leave the house at 7:00 - Husband is usually still busy sorting out circuits and trying to connect Bangkok with Bahrein or some other equally improbable places, so we often don't get away much before 7:15, by which time I'm jumping impatiently from foot to foot. Or else I decide I'll be patient and am sitting quietly knitting or something, and all of a sudden he's getting the car out.... you can't win!
Anyway, session is technically 6:00-10:30 but we usually arrive around 7:30 and Husband leaves either at 8:15 or 8:45, depending on which train he wants to catch, and I usually leave around 9:00 or 9:30.

I wake up at 3:45 for a 4:30 session, or 4:15 for a 5 a.m. session.
I literally get up, brush teeth, wash face, put contacts in, put hair up, get dressed, grab breakfast on the go, then 10 minute drive to the rink. If I had to do anything else, I'd have to get up around 3!

Depends what time my lesson is! If my lesson is at 6am I get up at about 4:10, if my lesson is at 6:30 I get up at about 4:30. I then leave between 5:00 and 5:30. The rink is 30mins away and that allows for me to get boots on and have a good skate around before my lesson. If I don't have a lesson Its generally 4:30 unless I am feeling extra keen!

5:15 am to skate a 7 am session, although with my home rink closing for a few weeks, I will be getting up at 4:50 to skate the 7 am session at another rink that is 20 miles further away.

Right now we have about an hour and 45 minute commute to get to the rink. (no ice in Tucson currently). I get up at 2:15 am to take a quick shower, feed the dog and leave to meet my ride at the highway by 3:15. (sometimes I hit snooze once so actually get up at 2:23)
We are on the ice at 5am (get there at 4:45 ish) and skate until 6:30 and then haul it off the ice to get back on the road so I can be at work and my fellow kid skater can be at school hopefully by 8:30. This works pretty well as long as there are no bad wrecks on I-10. Then I work until 6 or 7 pm. This can only happen on the weeks that I don't happen to be on call. Those weeks I can't be that far from the hospital. Pedonskates |

Um to get to the 5:45AM I get up at 5 and leave at 5:15. To get to the 3:15PM I leave at 2:45. Only takes 15-20 minutes to get there.

Starting this school year, anywhere from a 7:20am session to a 10pm session. My lessons will be in the morning, but I have team practices that have no regular schedule, whenever the ice is free after LTS, hockey, and freestyle sessions. This is my worst fear about this, we won't be able to get ice until the 10pm to midnight slot and then have to get up to make the 7:20 session. (I like my sleep, thank you very much)

OMG! You people are SO amazing! I thought I was the only nut getting up in the wee hours to skate but it looks like this is a common affliction!
I don't know how you can manage a LONG day at work afterward though! After skating 7 a.m. to 9, I work 9 to 3:30. I have tried working longer but end up falling asleep at my desk! (On non-skating days, I work from 5:30 or 6 to 3:30 to make up time.)
