Skate Canada skating levels question

Hi ... can one of the Canadian skaters here help me out?

Am trying to figure out what is required for someone who would be wanting to compete dance at the Pre-Novice and Novice levels...

What dances would a Pre-Novice competitor typically have passed? What representative skating skills/MIF type tests?

Also same for Canadian Novice dance...

Thanks in advance...

Pulled this off the skate canada website for you....

1. you must have passed the pre-novice/novice tests for the category you plan to skate. Pre-novice dancers must have passed the pre-novice test.

2. We don't have moves in the field test requirements. WE have skills skaters can take, but they are NOT a requirement to have passed a certain level.

Pre-novice dance: (for Canadian competition)

compulsory: 2 of the 4 dances listed will be drawn and skated: Keats Foxtrot, Harris Tango, American Waltz and Rocker Foxtrot

freedance: program of 2.5 min (+/- 10 secs)

*skaters MUST have passed complete senior bronze dances and Pre-Novice competitive dance test

Novice Dance:

Compulsory: 2 of 4 dances listed will be drawn and skated: Paso, BLues, Starlight Killian

Freedance: program of 3 min (+/- 10 sec)

*skate MUST have passed complete Novice dance test or higher

The Pre-Novice dance test is just a stroking test. You have to do 3 stroking exercises to one of the pieces of Foxtrot music:
- a round of open perimiter stroking with a circle in kilian hold to follow.
- a round of perimiter backwards stroking in open position and then a round of the same thing without holding on (but close enough that you COULD)
- a circle eight (I think that's what it's called...you skate in a circle, 8 strokes in open, 8 in kilian, 8 in foxtrot, 8 in waltz w/girl backwards, 8 in waltz with boy backwards, 8 in foxtrot going backwards, 8 in kilian going backwards)

The Novice dance test is just your Novice free dance. (although you used to have to do dance patch and 4 compulsories as well!)
