Coaches' Insurance Expiring

Just a friendly reminder! Compare the policies before you make decisions, the prices are not the only difference. ESIX provides both the USFSA and PSA policies, so if you're a joint member you should have gotten a letter about the prorated changeover.

Right now, ISI is the cheapest, but it's not effective until September and they haven't published next year's prices. [Revised 9/1/2005 - See below. No longer the cheapest.)

For PSA members the policy without the Sexual Molestation rider is a pretty good price, averaging $8 over the remaining 10 months.

Ice Skating Institute
972.735.8800
9/1 - 8/31
$95 full year (Was $90 last year)
$?? prorated after 3/1 (Was $75 last year)

PSA
ESIX/Brown&Brown
800.342.4371
5/1 - 4/30
$80 without Sexual Molestation Rider

$100 with Sexual Molestation Rider
$90 with Sexual Molestation Rider for former USFSA insureds.

USFSA
ESIX/Brown&Brown
800.342.4371
7/1 - 6/30
$120

(Note: Online Application link down but ESIX's letter says it is still available.)

Don't forget to renew!

Thanks for the heads up! My insurance renewal letter was sitting on my kitchen table unopened, with the assumption that it would still be $85. How sneaky to raise it like that. Guess I'll now go through the PSA, but won't renew daughter's at all, since she will be away in Japan for school all year anyway.

Dbny, are you a coach? If so, how did it happen?

Okay, $171 later, I've renewed my insurance, my PSA membership and purchased the new PSA handbook. That's on top of the $65 for ISI Associate Membership, the $75 for USFSA (which included a new handbook and a cute pin - good value there) and $125 for the rink jacket.

Still have to lay out money for certification tests, not to mention my own skating tests.

Boy, I'd better get busy teaching to cover these expenses!
