My first show - yay me!

This past Friday I skated in my first show ever! The directors had asked the Adult Dance class to skate the Dutch Waltz in our Christmas Exhibition dance number and I managed to do it! We skated to a very slow version of "Away in the Manger", slow enough that I could actually dance to it and get the whole pattern in on beat. What an absolute blast it was! I never, in a million years, would have thought I could do it or have as much fun doing it as I did. When I got off the ice, I watched my daughter do the Willow Waltz and then gave her a big hug when she got off and told her how much fun it was. "Duh, Mom, why do you think I skate? Because it's fun!" Can't wait to do it at our next show - maybe by then I'll be up to the Canasta Tango. I give dancers so much credit - it's way harder than it looks!

And, that was probably the best thing to hear from your daughter!

yay you! Me and my girls are in the Christmas show next week, skating to Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC. The skater parents asked us why we always get the best music - because we pick it!

Word.
