I hate to say how long I've been skating. I started 10 years ago but I haven't actually been skating for ten years...

I started back in 97 - skated for a couple of years - passed my pre-pre moves and prelim dances with a partner.
Then we moved and my husband died so I didn't skate for awhile. Then I started skating again in 2001....passed my pre bronze freestyle (mostly so I could grandfather in and not have to do the evil alternating 3 turns that were on prebronze moves at the time)...then my daughter started skating and I couldn't afford to pay for two skaters ... then I moved, got a better job and started skating again in January 2006....

Not really. I started private lessons before NISA introduced Skate UK (just before) and my rink didn't have a learn to skate programme. There were group classes but I didn't know about them so I went straight into private lessons. I think I took my first test just before NISA restructured into levels 1-10 and required Skate UK passport before entering national test system. I think.

Ok, let's see how much I remember...

Discipline(s)
Mostly freestyle, a dabble into dance

Level (of each Discipline you do if more then 1)
Freestyle: no test
Moves: Adult Silver passed
Dance: no test

How many years skating
Started skating at age 13 on frozen ponds and continued this informal seasonal skating until I went away to college in my late teens/early twenties. LOONG break, and then at age 50 I started skating again - this time in an adult LTS group, followed immediately by lessons with a coach.

How many years for each Discipline
7 years all disciplines

How old you were when you started skating
See lengthy description above. First skated when I was 13, but didn't start seriously until I was 50.

How old you when you began each Discipline
50 years old

Did you start with Learn to Skate
When I returned to skating at 50 I did. I also took some LTS classes in a distant rink during a couple summer seasons to maintain ice time/experience when our local rink closed.

Okay I will answer this one.

Discipline: Freestyle

Level: I am currently at ISI FS 5 and I am currently preparing to test through Adult Gold Moves and FS

How many years skating: I've been skating 18 months

How old you were when you started skating: I was 23

Did you start with Learn to Skate: I did start with learn to skate because it seemed like the easiest way to get into skating. I quickly opted out of it though because after a few days, I began skipping levels. After 2 weeks, I was sent to FS 1. I never got the time to settle into a specific group and it became unsettling. It started getting very frustrating, jumping from one level to another after one session so I decided to get a private coach after that. Call me crazy but I don't like that much change. LOL
