scream of joy!

I passed my Killian today! Standard track, which means I had to skate it both with and without a partner.

I skated pretty strongly & was just very happy not to let nerves get the best of me, which is what happened the last time I took it. I've been working on this dance for a long time--on and off for over 2 years--so this was really a wonderful relief to finish it finally. Now I have 2 more pre-golds to go, which hopefully will NOT take as long as this one did.

Just had to share!

Huge congrats! I know how you feel -- I had failed the Rocker Foxtrot 5 times over 6 years before I finally passed it. So yes, it's a great feeling!

I'm also envious of you for taking it standard. After my fiasco with the Rocker (taken Standard), I decided to switch to the Adult track and passed all 4 of the Pre-Golds in less than 2 years. I'm sure it would have taken me at least double the time to do them standard -- especially having to do the Starlight solo. I'm now working on the Golds, but I'm thinking that maybe I'll go back and redo them Standard after I finish the Golds. I still feel like I can do it.

Just for fun, here's my Kilian, taken last October.

That's a nice Killian Julie! If you can skate it like that solo I'd think it would pass. I do sometimes feel the tug of temptation to switch to adult track & just get the levels finished with, but I feel I'm still progressing and getting stronger, so I'm not going to do it unless I start to feel like I'm losing ground. Taking them standard has definitely made me a much stronger skater.

I hope you decide to go back & get those last 2 levels standard at some point; it is very gratifying to pass a test alongside the kids! You certainly look like you could pull it off.
