Any Late 27+ Skaters that have started skating late and can do doubles and triples?
Hi I am just wondering if there are many late adult skaters that started skating and taking it seriously, and are able to do doubles or triples?

I started at 28. Have landed all of the doubles up to the 2axel at least once. I've also lost most of them. The only jumps I can do now 99% of the time are the 2sal and 2toe. My 2loop is about 50%. On a very good day I can get my 2flip back. M6 2lutz and 2axel are extinct as far as I'm concern.

I know someone who started in her early to mid 30s and has some doubles.

Started at 25. Used to be able to do a lousy axel and a slightly less ugly 2sal. But I spin like a champ!

I started at 42 and almost have a single loop..... I have been told by my off-ice conditioning coach that it is possible (she is not promising anything) to at least get singles if not doubles as an adult. She says you have to work twice as hard to gain half as much as the little kids....
I also have had dreams that I did doubles and triples in front of my coach when she asked for a single (luv those dreams!) ...all I'm asking for are doubles! Of course, I have to get my singles

It'll help a lot if you're already in shape as an adult when you take up skating. If you've been neglecting your body because of too much hours at work, families, etc., you're gonna have to work hard to whip your body into shape in order to do good doubles. 2sals and 2toes are always possible for most people even if you're not in top shape, I think, because those jumps are easy to overrotate anyway. The others are harder. The key is to consistently do high, floating singles with condifdence and then one day just go for the double by not opening up after the first revolution and soon you'll be rotating 2.

Started at 26, and I can do double-double combos. Mainly toes & sals - occasional loops. Double flip - a few a day. Lutz - once in awhile. I think you can do anything if you work hard enough at it.

I have a desk job and my body really doesn't get worked out enough during the day, so it's worth it to take a class. If I pay for it-I will go to it. I even signed my kids up because they spend too much time in front of the TV. It has helped them also. My son will notice a difference when hockey season starts in a few weeks (he is 9 1/2).
