I Did It!!!!!!!!!

I landed my very first loop this morning!!!!!!! <cue huge grin> I did a pretty ok half loop, and my coach was saying that the worst that could happen on trying the loop would be I'd fall, and after a couple of goes I succeeded in jumping off my left foot and landing on my left foot!!!!!! My mouth dropped open like Sarah Hughes after her Olympic LP and my coach did a crazy happy dance, gave me a big hug and said I'd made his day! Yay!!! I'm so glad I did it - it was my last ever lesson with him and I really wanted to do it before he leaves (he's going to coach at another rink) as he's been trying to teach it to me. Nice way to finish! (Can you guess I'm a bit happy about this? )

Congrats!!!

We just had a coach leave to work on a PHD. She had two of her students land an axel for their last lesson with her. I wonder if this would work if we just shuffled coaches? ;-)

Hugs!

Congratulations, Rachel! May it be the first of many. It's my husband's favourite jump.

Congratulations!!

That's fabulous and how coincidental because I did too!! I had struggled on the loop and then had just left it alone while working on the flip and salchow. But I was working on back spins and I thought what the heck and I landed 2 fully rotated!! Ofcourse my coach wasn't there but isn't that just the way it is.

CONGRATS! I know the feeling because I had finally landed a loop not too long ago. Coincidentally, my landed loop was also in my last lesson with my former coach before I moved away. Alas, my loop apparently does not like its new location, but hopefully you will have many more loops ahead of you

Thanks guys! I've skated once since then (I'm only weekly) and by the time I'd come off on Saturday, I'd landed several more! Yay! They aren't exactly enormous or with much flow yet, but what the hey, I can do them. 8) My goal (since the beginning of the year) was to have at least started learning all the single jumps bar the axel by Christmas. Only flip and lutz to go! lol.
Thanks again for your kind words everyone
