UK Skaters and Levels
A friend of mine on another board is curious as to what makes up (elements) the following levels:
Level 6 Dance Level 9 Moves Level 7 Freestyle She can't find them anywhere and I've been googling away and have had a difficult time as well. Figured I'd go straight to the best sources - our UK skaters themselves! Thanks for your help! |

I can only tell you about level 6 dance, but there are three tests at level 6, for compulsory, original and free dance. Compulsories are the European Waltz and the Foxtrot. Original and free dances are 1.5 minutes, and must include a step sequence, at least one (but no more than two) spins, and a twizzle sequence. (Couples can also include one lift, but that's optional.)
For the OD, the step sequence can be midline or diagonal, and for the free dance, it can be midline, diagonal or circular. Twizzles in the OD must be a minimum of one rotation with a maximum of one step in between, while in the free dance they must be a minimum of two rotations, with up to three steps in between. To pass, you need to average 3.0 for technical and presentation. Hopefully someone else can fill in the others. Fiona |
