Adult Pair Skating site is up!

Forget the Olympics, the most-anticipated event of the figure skating community has arrived -- the Adult Pair Skating website is up and running!

http://www.adultpairskating.com/

Many thanks to Andrea and Lee for taking this on. They've done a phenomenal job, and it'll only get better. Have a visit everyone. And if you're a team not represented, hop to it and get a photo and your bio into Andrea.

Tim

PS Andrea looks suh-mokin in her photo, so go check that out if nothing else.

Such a pity it's US-only! Any chance of persuading the authors to make it global - I know one or two pairs who might well like their profiles on it.

You need to get Ellen Zurfluh and Les Ascher on that site. I'll forward it to them if I remember later.

Death to the flap!

BTW, Andrea & Lee put me & my partner on the site, even though we're on an extended hiatus because of my knee surgeries. David's still skating, and he still considers us a team! Aint' he sweet?!

hi everyone... i checked out the site yesterday..i also spoke to les and ellen at sectionals as well..i think they did talk to andrea...hmm an internationsl site? i will email andrea and tell her to check out this thread. might be interesting concept...Mrs redboots...we met in france last year..are you pairs or dance. I'm sure once they get their feet on the ground then with the site they will see what other suggestions people have...Andrea as always you do so much for adult pairs skating. we owe you ...and i owe you for hooking me up with my awesome partner. i wonder if eventually a place can be made for others to post a partner search. this is such a great idea and all the teams thank you for your work...Tim and i will try to get a photo ion pairs clothes up soon...we had a photo session planned recently but go snowed out. oh and next time we will try to remeber to do our photos before the zamboni chases us off the ice!

A: depends on whos throwing you and how much you lied about your weight on your pairs profile

a can of stickum : $5.95
the email asking "how do you get this sticky stuff off " ...priceless

Sigh. I'm just one of many.....

Seriously, Bill told me about this site -- pretty cool. I've found pair skating to be a lot more fun than I expected it to be, and really satisfying to accomplish something that is, well, unexpected. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a shot!

I'm dance, but I have several friends who do pairs in the UK - or rather, who did do pairs in the UK until the rules changed and minimum requirements were brought in (the only discipline that has minimum requirements). Right now, they're limited to club competitions - or the internationals! So I'd love to see their photos up on the site.....

Hee hee. Thanks for the healing vibes, TerriC. And, heck yeah, if I had a pair of scissors and a little proximity, there'd be NO FLAP.

The flap had a good run, but it was distracting to me--and apparently to certain audience members as well!
Here's my tribute pic to you, skaternum!

Hey, not sure if you noticed at Sectionals, but my "flap" has been sufficiently fastened:] Will you be in Dallas??

Ooh, sounds like fun.

mskater, no I won't be in Dallas. I have to save up my vacation to use for my second surgery later in the year. But I'll be there in spirit.
