Testing Again (had to share!)

I haven't posted on my own skating achievements lately, but had to share my good news!! Last month I took my 2nd to last Jr. Silver dance (in Canada), the Harris Tango, and passed with flying colors.
Though I've kept up my skating over the years, I haven't taken a dance test in six years and I was very nervous.
I am taking my last Jr. Silver dance in August, the Rocker, and just learned the Starlight today - my very first Sr. Silver anything. I was so excited I just had to share

Do you know if the Harris Tango is the same dance as the Tango in the USFS silver level?

Yes, it is. A lot of people still know the dance by that name, but for some reason in the US, it has become known as either the Tango or the Silver Tango.

Congratulations, thumbyskates! I am working on passing the rest of my Pre-Golds. I passed the Killian contingent at my last test session and am now working on the Paso and the Starlight, which I love! The rocker's an easy dance, so you should be done with that one in no time!

I think it's called the Silver Tango because for many years it was one of the old Silver-level dances in the UK.

In the US, it is also a silver-level dance. Makes sense!

Hahaha, I saw that you're testing on Friday the 13th. I passed my Senior MIF back in 2005 on Friday the 13th, so don't be superstitious. I was, but that day turned out to be luckier than I thought! Good luck with the American. I hated that dance!

Aww thanks so much - I definitely didn't expect so many congrats's when I came on here today, LOL!!! I was blown away. I'm very excited.
The Rocker is seeming pretty easy - I have better Rockers than any other turn, so that's good news. I'm excited to learn my Sr. Silvers - I'm a better skater than my levels suggest (all thanks to synchro), so learning the harder dances will be more fun and more challenging. I'm not looking for a partner, FSWer - too old for that!!
