It's on the way...

I just heard that the schedule will be out tomorrow! They're making a few last-minute adjustments, so check the WFSC website tomorrow.

Oh-kay...does this mean that Pre-Bronze FS I and II are combined, or are we doing our programs on half-ice? We're both scheduled for the same time slot.

I'm glad not to be skating at the crack of dawn, but I'll probably do the practice ice on Sunday morning. I discovered at HC that I'm no good with just a 3-minute warm-up.

For that event it usually means that they combined the events. Compulsory MIF and spins are usually the only events done on a partial sheet. The "A" and "B" refers to it being on a partial sheet.

Debbie, it looks like you have separate events but a combined warmup. That's what they did for silver pairs and gold pairs; we warm up together but compete separately.

Oh dear, there are at least 3 Tims in the silver men's event. But I'm not sure who "Tim C." is. So maybe there are 4 Tim's.?! I count a Tim D., Tim M., and Tim F.
I also told my coach that I am withdrawing from the silver FS event, but I'm still doing silver pairs.

WHAT??? Are you nuts, this is your first competition as a official Silver skater and you're wanting to scratch! You totally kill me!!

This schedule makes me wonder what to do with all the extra time I'll have. I don't skate until 5:30 pm on Saturday and I skate Sunday morning at 11:45. I guess since there's no Friday afternoon practice ice, that I'll start the drive up later on Friday morning!

What does being an official silver skater have anything to do with competing?! It's not like I'm a better skater by virtue of passing an arbitrary USFS adult test.
I'm afraid I have a scheduling conflict. My FS events have NEVER been on the Sunday. And I've usually been 'blessed' with having my events within an hour of each other, not a day apart. But not this time. Oh well.

Double ugh. We'll see .... I'll make you proud in pairs, OK?
(And, um, you're master level, you're NOT ALLOWED to skate down a level!)

Thanks, Loops. I guess this means Terri C and I will not be renewing our rivalry, although there's always the warm-up.

Actually, Terri, you skate at 11:20. I'm glad they decided to start each day later - last year, I think the first event was at 8:15 or so. Hopefully by FS on Sunday, I will be awake. I'm doing Bronze MIF primarily for the experience, not for placement. It's a good thing too, since there are 8 of us!

It seems like there's not much time for 8 people to do power 3's and spirals, plus the warm-up - I wonder if they're double-paneling us or something, but if they did, how would they determine a winner? Maybe they're just dividing us into 2 groups and will judge each separately?

I'm a little bummed that both of my events are on the "overflow" day - usually all the FS events are one the same day, but I'll be there on Saturday to watch the Silver, Gold, and Interp events. I'd like to see the compulsories, but I may try to practice somewhere around here in the morning before heading down.

You're so prepared and have a great singles program; I say go show it off and have fun with it!

I know I can't skate down but last year the Gold and Master's men were combined to accommodate Jay, so I was hoping for the same this year since no one else entered Masters.

Well thanks, man, but the program is in shambles right now due to my latest deconstruction methods. But I hope to remedy that.
"... so prepared ..." Huh? As Loops will attest, that's not how I would describe me. My latest tweak (in front of my coach this morning) was to inject Johnny Weir-like moments into the choreography. That involved me placing my right hand on my face, upper body, and then chest at every available moment. (God, why DOES he do that?!) It wasn't pretty. Coach and mdvask8r got a kick out of it, though.
(Sorry, I'm just in burn out mode. )

They combined the events such that they asked the 2 gold men to skate up to masters. You're just too good for your own good, Chad, that no one dared to skate up!

That said, I am so sad that I won't get to see you compete.

Lost again.

After reviewing the application forms etc for this event, I have noticed the requirements for the Interp events do not cover adult gold interp, Only Young adult gold or Adult Interp
Im a little confused and need some help here. The adult interp requirements are for bronze and silver level skaters...
The Masters interp is for those who have passed the masters test...

Where do i fit in here I think I applied for masters interp because I am at gold level and according to the announcment I could not skate adult interp, because thats for bronze and silver....

Need help.....anyone got a phone number for the event oprganizer

Lost again. Oh brother.

According to the announcement, "Masters Interpretive" comprises masters and gold level. The adult interp includes bronze and silver.
Actually, the way it is worded is maybe confusing. The interp event states that the competitors in masters interp level "Must meet the requirements Adult Masters FS event in this announcement." So if you look at the Adult Masters FS event, it states that the competitor "Must meet the qualifications for Masters OR Adult Gold FS."
So there you have it. You're in interp masters.
The organizers just sent out 2 e-mails this evening. You are listed in Masters Interp.

Anyone with Q's can e-mail the organizers at:
AdultSkateWFSC@aol.com

Um, according to the Registration Confirmation e-mail sent out tonight, you are listed under Gold FS. Huh?
So if you're really in silver FS, that makes 8 men who have at least signed up. (Of course, it would behoove me to say that no one would withdraw. )

So now there are 4, yes 4, Tims in this event!
