The BASIC SKILLS program page for the USFSA website has two different navigations.

On the left, if you select Basic Skills, then "For Parents," you are sent to THIS PAGE. It has some useful overview information.

On the right of that page, there is a small grey box containing these additional resources:

Additional Resources

What to wear (PDF)
Buying the right skates (PDF)
Preparing Young Skaters for Competition (PDF)Mental Preparation (PDF)

US Olympic Committee Links

The US Olympic Committee has an education series based on promoting sportsmanship and fair play. The resources available include printable posters, videos, and articles.

The main page is:
http://elitemediagroup.tv/usoc_youtheducation_home.htm

Just a note: none of the athletes profiled on the site are figure skaters. Go figure!

Hall of Fame Educational Pages

Here is a great page, filled with educational information and worksheets for learning about figure skating. The Physics sheets are exceptionally good.

There is a new site devoted to off-ice training and strength and conditioning just for figure skaters, www.sk8strong.com. Lots of info, injury reports, skill analyses, and upcoming DVDs.
