Birthday wishes & hopes

Happy Birthday to Gary!

What are your hopes for your next year and what do you want to achieve, in skating terms, by your next birthday?

Neat thread!

Let's see... my birthday's in August, so I have awhile. I'd like to have two of my Silver dances passed, and I'd like to win ISI District championships. (I'm sure I'll be against the book, I don't think there's anyone else in my district who does ISI dance, let alone at level 6 or 7, which is what I'll probably be by June). I also want to pass my ISI Dance 7. The Lake Placid competition is a week before my birthday, but I haven't set specific goals for that yet, seeing that I don't know what the dances are or even which level I'll be skating. I'd like to place in the top 8 or 10 if I skate Novice, and I'd like to finish the competition without catastrophic injury if I skate Junior. Most importantly, I'd like to skate both rounds the way I skated the first one last year. And I want to continue my (short) streak of not choking at tests and competitions.

Edited to add Happy Birthday Gary!

My birthday's in April - not long away.
I suppose the best I can hope for is a new programme.
I had really wanted the axel but the fear of the jumping prevails.

Gosh, thanks!!!! Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but one of my computers fried a power supply. I finally was allowed to use my sons' computer for a few minutes.

Yep, 39 again (plus 10)!!! Approaching that magic half century mark.

Over-the-hill???? NEVER!!!!! Thank goodness I'm getting over these d***** hills.

As far as my skating goals:

10. Learn not to force my 3-turns. Make them smooth.
9. Stretch enough to do a decent lunge.
8. Pass Gamma and Delta
7. Join my girlfriend's precision skating team
6. Get my shoulder back into shape so I can keep my arms up
5. Start learning a little dance again
4. Learn a waltz jump (I'm chicken)
3. Strengthen my leg muscles for stronger stroking and more control
2. Smile and laugh a lot on the ice

and the number 1 goal

STAY VERTICAL!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday!!!!!

Hmm, lets see, my bday is in November (I'll be 17--omgosh already??!) and I'm hoping I can get backward crossovers down on both sides (no scratchy blades) and then learn to do a waltz jump from back x-overs. Also, I wanna start working on 3turns and mohawks, learn a spiral and work on my two-foot spin!!

What do you mean "already"? 17 was a lifetime ago to me.

Heck, I barely had whiskers, but still had all of my hair then.
