MITF/Freestyle tests in NYC/Philly areas

I've been having a lot of trouble finding MITF/freestyle test sessions for September/early October and wanted to know if anyone here knows of any test sessions occuring in the NYC or Philly areas... or how I can find out.

Thanks in advance!

Is the figure skating version of this: Skate as if you're doing an axel and not just learning how to hop?

There's one at Codey arena (South Mountain) on 9/19, postmark deadline 9/7. More info: http://www.essexskatingclub.org , under "Events".

You can also contact the test chair of North Jersey FSC (Ice Vault in Wayne), she'll give you the dates of upcoming tests there: http://www.northjerseyfsc.org/testing.htm

That's all I know of...

BTW from what I've seen, most of the time in this area I see tests scheduled on weekdays.

Yes it is a weekday morning...I've only seen one test in our area that was a weekend. You might try Philadelphia Skating Club & Hummane Society in Ardmore. www.pschs.org

The Rye FSC is holding a test session on October 18th at the Westchester Skating Academy. I think it's filling up fast, though!

Thank you everyone!

I've sucked it up and signed up for the Essex FSC test, but will need to keep an eye out for late, late october test sessions just in case I fail.

My boss had dropped a last minute "possibility" of a week-long business trip for me late september/early october, tacked on to the week that I'll be out of the country for vacation... plus multiple training classes that eat up other test session times, so that inspired the scramble to try to test asap!

So... wish me luck for Sept 19th (I'll need it! )

As a general rule there are fewer test sessions after the cut off date for regionals/sectionals etc. The judges usually take a rest in Sept because Oct is very busy with 12 regionals. We don't have a sept test at all and this year we will have a late oct test and nov test and then nothing until the first week of feb.

The Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society has some...maybe they have some that can fit your schedule. They are near Philly. the rink has no barrier.

Or, even a little farther south, the Skating Club of Wilmington will be having a couple of test sessions through the fall. I don't know if the schedule is posted on their web site yet, though:
