You may have read in this month's issue of USFSA's "Skating" magazine that Ted Clarke was recently stripped of his eligibility by the USFSA. If you want the real truth of the story, look on the World Skating Federation's website - www.worldskating.org (http://www.worldskating.org). (Go to the website and click on "Reinstate Ted Clarke" for all info.) At the time of this disciplinary action, Ted Clarke was the Senior Vice President of the USFSA. According to the USFSA (Grievance Committee), Mr. Clarke's crime was knowing that the World Skating Federation (WSF) was forthcoming. Other USFSA Executive Committee members also knew of the WSF's birth, and they were not stripped of their elibigility. In fact, the USFSA Executive Committee approved the WSF principles after its inception. Did Mr. Clarke get stripped because he was practicing the WSF principles? Were the USFSA Executive Committee members who are also ISU members responsible for instigating such an injustice?

Please go to http://www.worldskating.org/action/clarke-reinstatement.shtml for information on writing, e-mailing or faxing your letter to reinstate Ted Clarke immediately and to remove the ISU members from the USFSA Executive Committee.

I tried to bring this up before, and the response was a bit flat.

I still can't believe they'd shaft someone like this who has given of himself over and over and over again for this organization.

Thanks, IgglesII! I looked through the various skatingforums before I wrote about Ted Clarke, thinking that surely there was already a thread started. Sorry to have missed your discussion a few weeks ago -- I was offline for a couple of weeks. At least you know that it's still an issue!

I read a topic on FSUniverse a couple weeks ago that I found very informative. It was under the first heading. Someone indicated USFSA proceedings were initiated against other WSF organizers & Ted Clarke's was resolved first because he was an officer & someone requested an expedited process. One person said he didn't, but another claims he did. This is not indicated in the WSF report which implies the USFSA singled out Ted Clarke. Someone else noted it was odd for a group to ask for letters to be written by people & encourage them to openly state they don't know the circumstances. Usually they provide plenty of details that can be included in a letter.

There was a report in last month's Skating magazine. After reading both the USFSA & WSF reports, I have come to the conclusion that there is a lot of edited & missing information in both accounts.
