So, sekret sources have informed me that Sasha is dating Garrett Lucash. Don't know quite yet if this is fact or fiction, but tis an interesting concept, n'est pas?

Can anyone here confirm or deny for sure? I'm asking since this here since this is where a lot of Sasha fans hang out.

Garrett is the U.S. silver medalist in pairs skating (skates with Katie Orscher). O&L's official site - http://www.garrettlucash.com. He and Sasha have been friends for years, but if you haven't heard anything from them about a further relationship, I'd assume either it doesn't exist, or they don't want strangers discussing it. Either way seems to make the existence of a thread with an unsubstantiated rumor kind of silly. :)

I was talking to him this weekend and I asked him if he knew Sasha and he said that they were just really good friends. He didnt say ne thing baout dating so I doubt they are together unless they are keeping it on the 'down-low'

Flippet, I realize you're a board moderator and all, so if you want this one to go away, that's you're decision.

I would, however, like to point out a difference here. No one is speculating on illnesses, or disorders, or criminal activity here. They're speculating on who's dating who - People magazine and Entertainment Weekly make piles and piles of cash every week doing the exact same thing. Their information isn't necessarily *solid,* either.

With as visible as she and her agent have made her (not to mention the boys on that stupid Fox television show and their poll last year), and as many fans as she has, people are going to want to gossip about who Sasha may or may not be attached to.

And I'm sorry Garrett, but...welcome to Senior level. You're on TV now - this goes with the territory. Just ask any single male athlete who appears on tv.

Sigh. Apparently this news is not really new. So I'm going to conclude it's false, and it's just one of those things that will pop up every few months, out of boredom, speculation, whatever.

As to Trillian--newsflash. This is a figure skating board. Which are notorious for gossip. And I believe I made it clear that I was not posting this as fact. And I also posted this on the board that I thought would be the best place to get an actual, truthful answer. I was not smearing anyone's reputation by asking if they were dating. As for "not posting unsubstantiated rumors" I don't know any other way to find out if information is in fact rumor, fact, or fiction other than posting on an internet board. In fact, most information starts out as unsubstantiated rumors. A few even turn out to be true.

If any of the mods wish to close this thread, that's OK. Question has been answered to my satisfaction.

Never said you were. And I didn't intend to suggest that I was offended in any way in my post. But part of gossiping on one of these boards is understanding that there are also a lot of us who think such gossip is silly and pointless, and if we pop open a thread expecting to see something skating-related, we might be inclined to express our opinions. :) A more specific thread title, and I may not have opened it at all.

I certainly wouldn't have suggested you were smearing anyone's reputation. Could be that the rumor is true, and even if it's not, I don't see how it hurts either of these skaters to be linked to each other. The fact that the discussion is happening doesn't bother me (I pretty much take the same opinion as Iggles on that point).

But the only definitive answer you'd get would be from either Sasha or Garrett. And they aren't talking about it (publicly, anyway, and I don't blame them), so this is all speculation.

I wasn't posting as "moderator"--I was just posting my own opinion. (When I post as a mod, I make sure to change the appearance of the type, and I sign the post.) To a certain extent, I don't care if these things are discussed either--what bothered me is that someone posted with 'well, I talked him and he didn't say, so....' In my own opinion, without permission to post that information, it starts to tread into personal territory.

Hypothetically, I could be a skater at her rink, and could have access to knowledge that isn't public--for instance, if I saw her kissing someone. But that information wouldn't be mine to share. If I were an elite skater, I'd appreciate a certain level of privacy at my workplace.

My opinion, that's all. :)

Actaully I was a show this weekend and he was there he said he trained in CT and I freaked out (being a Sasha fan) and said OMG do you know Sasha and he said shes like my best friend. I'm sorry if it offended you that I said something like that, I just didnt want this rumor to blow over the top without something more concrete. IMO

I always try not to post on these threads, it gets tooo gossipy, regardless of the intent of the original Poster.

But, IMO, if something is done in public, it is public domain. If Sasha was seen kissing Freddie Prinze, Jr., I for sure want to know about it. If she does it at a rink, grocery store, football game, etc., IMO, it should be allowed to be discussed.
If, however, it is rumor spread from a friends uncles aunts neice, then I really do not want to hear it, the source is not strong enough to care about.

But this reminds me of "I went to <CT or Hackensack or HealthSouth> and saw Janet Lynn skating..." posts. Is that common/postable knowledge? Especially this time of year, when programs are choreographed? Different lists have discussed whether or not what happens at a skater's home rink is public knowledge. However, that was in relation to training methods/habits, etc. As for other activities at the rink, I'm not sure.

Personally, I really don't discuss skater's personal lives unless an announcement has been made or otherwise publicly acknowledged by the skaters (for example, Spielberg/Joeright's engagement). I don't think I want my love life plastered on the 'net, so why would anyone else....

Flexibility of the quality as is evident with people like Sasha (or Mishketunok or Kazakova or Lucinda Rue etc.) is not learned, its natural...God given, as it were...so if, as you imply, Lucash is lacking flexibility on that order, he will not get it from others, whether he dates them or not.

Somehow, I have the feeling that's not the kind of "flexibility" that was inferred in the original post, considering this is an eville/Enquirer/gossipy/naughty/sexiest-woman-in-sports thread. :lol: Last time I checked Sasha hasn't exactly been shying away from the limelight...it's normal for people to be curious about famous people's dating habits, especially in this country, where you can be bagging groceries one year and winning the Super Bowl or American Idol the next. Only in America indeed. ;)

Some flexibility is "natural" But Sasha didn't just wake up pulling her leg over her head. It takes lots of stretching, and pliates. Maybe Sasha could give Garret some tips on some stretching techniques, or where to go for Pilates, he needs it.

I agree...one has to work very hard not to be a diamond in the rough, and clearly, Sasha works very hard -- but the result of hard work is also tempered and negotiated by natural gifts...otherwise, every hard working tenor would sound like Luciano Pavarotti or Enrico Caruso, and it just has never worked quite that way! I wish it did...I'm missing Pavarotti at the Met so much I could scream!

Everyone has gifts...some have gifts that are simply more rare, and in the end, those are most often for the benefit of everyone...just look at say, Van Gough! His gifts were rare and awesome, but who did they mostly benefit? Everyone, it seems, who can enjoy the art he created. Therefore, its not good to be jealous of or angry at or dismissive of people who have speical gifts! Those rare gifts are almost never for those people alone. Did the rare gifts of Jonas Saulk, who invented the Polio Vaccine, benefit only him? Does Sasha's beauty and rare talent benefit only her? I say no, not by a long shot, precisely every time I enjoy SO MUCH seeing her skate!

As for Garret, I'm sure he is not stupid...he must be aware of things like Pilates and other stretching tecniques...and does not need a gossip inspired discussion of Sasha's flexibility or his lack thereof to pursue same, if he needs to.

There...I'm trying to look at some kernels and make this thread meaningful, ANYWAY.
