Paul Martini - after the whole iskater.com debacle? Has he come out of hiding yet?
Natalia Mishketunok - after Lloyd Eisler publicly dissed her for trying pairs with her hockey player husband.
Alex McGowan - did he coach any world class skaters after Debi Thomas?
the Duchesnays - do they still skate?

IIRC, Paul Duchesnay is coaching, somewhere in the US I think.
Paul Martini was still around doing commentary for CBC last year throughout all the iskater debacle, and I'm willing to bet he'll be back this season. (Mind you, CBC doesn't cover as nearly as many events as CTV, so it might seem like he's "in hiding.")

I remember reading a while back that Natalia and her husband run a skating school somewhere in Colorado. Not sure if they're still doing that.

Paul Duchesnay is coaching in Flordia and also travels to Europe to work with a variety of ice dance teams. His sister still lives in Canada.
Alex McGowan never really coached a world class skater after Debi Thomas. He lives in California and teaches occasionally. He was working with Bernie Ford for a few years at a variety of training camps.

They were coaching at the Broadmoor at one point. I think their only students who qualified for nationals (while with them) were Val Rising-Moore and his two partners--Morgan Matthews in novice in '99, and Valentina Raszkasova in seniors in '01 or 02? (The latter team broke up before nationals anyway.) I saw Morgan and Val compete in '99 and was quite taken with her talent in particular (I'm not surprised she's on her way to stardom in dance), but despite their fairly creative pairs skills, they were pretty weak in terms of singles skills.
I once asked a skater who was with them for a while what he thought, and he made a comment in passing about her husband's lack of knowledge of figure skating technique being a problem, but that was just one skater. Anyone know if these two are still coaching?

8-)
mcgowan did live in california...but he's now listed as living in maryland (a bit of a surprise to me...but i haven't been to pacific coast championships for a couple of years...so i wouldn't have seen him otherwise anyway...)
he's had a lot of good skaters over the years...but many of them quit prior to making it to the "big time"...
funny guy...couldn't stand to work for him...but on a social level, he's quite ammusing...

I hate to admit this, but I met Alex on the beach at Ramsgate. He was appearing as a skater at an Ice Rink on the cliff. Cannot remember what it was called. This would have been late 50s. He was with a Frenchman called Pierre, who could hardly speak English. Alex also posed as a Frenchman who did not speak much English. They were both dressed in swimming trunks and because my girlfriend and I really thought they were both French, we had a conversation between us!! Suddenly, Alex replied speaking perfect English and we both nearly died. Years later, I saw him on the television from Redwood. Is he still alive? Lol when I think back about that. LOL.
