So glad for her.

Of course this is not news to me, but thanks for posting the article.
Like I've said before, it's sad she won't be back this year, and no one knows if she's even going to come back at all at this point, but I'm still glad she's made a choice, and this was one that was important to her.
After last season, particularly how she looked and skated at Worlds, my guess was she would go full time to college, the "desire" was just not there, I'm not saying she doesn't love skating or that I was in her head, but compare Sarah last year to any year from 99 on and it was obvious her competitive spirit was just not there last year. I doubt she'll come back and compete on the level she used to but there are enough pro ams and etc. that she can just compete at the level she wants to and enjoy college life.

I'd be surprised (but happily, LOL!) if she ever did compete again. Perhaps we'll see her in An Evening with Champions, etc, but in order to be competitive for even a pro-am (so as not to embarrass herself by coming in last) she'd have to train harder than she did last season, remain injury-free, etc., and I don't see that happening to her.
I bet she's going to have a great time at school!

When it comes down to it, no one (unless you're Scotty!) can skate forever. Sarah has accomplished the ultimate- what else does she have to prove by competing another season? She is obviously a goal-oriented, intelligent girl with ambitions we know little of. I applaud her decision to keep her life on track with her non-athlete peers. She will be a huge success in anything she chooses to pursue. Go for it, girl!
