Hey all,
The Silicon Valley Open (one of the Future Champions Series events), sponsored by Peninsula Skating Club, will be held next Thursday through Saturday at Logitech Ice at San Jose. I was at this competition last year (spectating only, of course) and it was great.
There will be some up-and-comers as well as some names that many have probably heard about. Among the list of entrants:
LADIES
Felicia Beck
Joan Cristobal (former US National Junior Champion)
Kim Ryan (with one of the craziest and most beautiful spiral positions ever)
MEN
Justin Dillon
Princeton Kwong (novice men's group, but already has a killer triple lutz)
Nicholas LaRoche
Dennis Phan (one of my favorites)
I will be there watching most of the Junior and Senior events (and some of the novice and below). If you are in the area, I highly suggest going to this competition. It will be the best gathering of Pacific Coast skaters in the Bay Area until Central Pacifics happen in Vacaville.
If anyone is interested, I will provide reports. But I will definitely report on the results of the competition.
