Does anyone have predictions for different levels?

Oh, how I'd love to go to this - but hubby is taking vacation time the week before, so I can't ask him to take this time off so that I can go to the Cape while he drives Icy to her lessons/practices.
No predictions, but it would be so great to be able to see Matt Lind, and the senior ladies, this early in the season!

Let's see, how much more out of sink can I get than this?
My Dad lives on the Cape not too far from the rink so I could easily attend and watch two of the senior ladies who are from my club, SC of Lake Placid.
Instead where am I going to be? In Lake Placid attending the adult figure skating week.
Note to skating gods, shift one or the other next year so I can do both!!

Rats, it doesn't look like results are getting posted on the 'net, at least not on the Yarmouth site, or NEICC. My daughter and I know quite a few of the lower level skaters, and we want to know how they placed!
Schmeck, wishing Icy didn't have a lesson today, (and an ortho appt. tomorrow!) so we could go down to the Cape for a few days!

I'll be there most of Sat - gonna make the long journey up, I need to getaway from the daily grind. Anyone else going?

I'd love to--I've been the past two years--but probably, no. I look forward to reading a report, though! :)

Couldn't get to writing a report sooner, but here it is. I spent the better part of Saturday there (the other part, the drive, well, somedays I wonder why I do it).
Intermediate Ladies FS Final
I got there a little later than I planned for, so I missed most of Intermediate Ladies. The few I saw were attemping no hope 2-axels in the freeskate, badly cheated and not even standing up on them. The overall level seemed less than that of Int Ladies at Liberty Open.
Tiffany Lucas (12) - 2-axel(cheat/fall), 2-lutz/2-toe, flying camel(5), 2-sal, spiral, 2-loop, layback(6), ina to 1-axel, straight-line ftwk, 2-flip, split jump, 2-lutz(2-foot), camel/layback/backsit.
Sabrina Logren (7) - 2-axel(cheat/fall), 3-toe(cheat)-2-toe, flying camel(3)/illusion(1), 2-loop, 2-flip/2-toe, ina then 2 spiral positions, layback(5), straight-line ftwk, 2-lutz/2-loop, 2-sal, stars/camel/layback/Biel/backsit/scratch.
Erica Heon (11) - camel/sit/back-camel/backsit, 2-flip/1-toe, 2-sal, 2-lutz/2-toe, layback(4), ina to 2-loop, 2-axel(cheat/fall), 2-lutz, straight-line ftwk, split to 2-flip, flying camel(5).
Novice Men FS
I'm not going to type this one up - I missed some of them while getting a snack. Overall, the level of the Nov Men was more like Int Men that were too old to be Int any longer... very few could even manage the 2-axel and not may triple attempts either.
Junior Men FS
Justin Clements (7) - camel/sit/back-camel/backsit, 2-axel, 3-lutz(2foot), straight-line ftwk, 2-sal(pop open landing), 2-loop, 3-toe(fall), deathdrop/backsit(6), 2-lutz, circular ftwk, scratch spin.
Roman Vickers (6) - 3-sal/1-toe, flying camel(4), 2-lutz, 2-axel, 2-loop, 1-axel and another 1-axel both seemed a part of chereo, 2-flip, circular ftwk, camel/sit/backsit, spreadeagle, 2-toe, 1-axel, deathdrop(botched), scratch spin.
Matthew Blumenfeld (5) - 3-toe, 3-lutz(2-foot)/2-toe(saved), 3-sal, flying camel(4), straight-line ftwk, 2-flip, 2-axel(turnout), 2-loop, 3-toe, 2-lutz, camel/sit/backsit, circular ftwk, 2-axel, deathdrop/backsit. His jump landings were not really good.
Nicholas Santillo (4) - deathdrop/backsit, 2-lutz, 2-axel, 2-toe, 3-sal-2-toe, sitspin, 2-loop, 2-flip, camel/sit/upgright/backsit/scratch, straight-line ftwk, 2-axel(fall), 2-flip, 2-lutz, Russian, flying camel(4). He looked like he was running out of steam at the end of the program.
Nathan Evancho (3) - 3-lutz/2-toe, 3-axel(fall), 3-flip, flying sit(stumbled), S ftwk, 3-loop, sitspin, 3-toe, 3-toe/2-toe, camel/sit/backsit/halfsit, 1-axel, / ftwk, 3-sal, Russian(stumbled), deathdrop, scratchspin. He too looked like he ran out of steam towards the end.
Andrei Griazev (1) - finally, I get to watch Griazev. He's got potential, doesn't like like he has consistency yet, but he can do the harder stuffs. 3-axel(low landing/bent knee)-3-toe(saved), 3-flip, 1-lutz, 2-sal/3-toe, flying camel(6), O ftwk, 3-sal(low landing/bent knee), spirals(2), 3-loop, | ftwk, 2-axel, camel/sit/^Sandhuspin/upright/backsit/Y. He skates fast, but looks somewhat untamed - the precision/crispness of a great technician isn't there yet. Ftwk was interesting - and no he doesn't use much toe steps, but interesting and easily the best of the competition.
Jason Wong (2) - 3-flip, 2-axel, flying camel(5), 3-lutz/3-toe(stepout), 3-loop, spreadeagle then spiral, camel/backsit/Y, 1-lutz, 3-toe/2-toe, | ftwk, 3-sal, deathdrop/backsit. He looks approx like he did at Liberty - different jumps worked/didn't work, didn't try the 3-axel here, and I do like his presentation and while his jumps are not huge/powerful, when clean they have very good technique/control. Griazev goes into a jump much faster, and the jumps are far less controlled.
Senior Men FS
Scott Smith (1) - 3-axel, 3-toe/3-toe, 4-sal, flying camel(4), walley to 3-lutz, | ftwk, 3-loop, camel, 1-axel, 3-flip, deathdrop/backsit, S spreadeagles(2), 3-sal, camel-transitions-backsit/scratch. Partial standing ovation. Looks like typical Scott that I've seen, and almost clean here, only singled an axel.
Ian McAdam (3) - camel/sit/sit/backsit/scratch, 2-axel, 2-sal, 2-lutz/2-loop, / ftwk, 2-flip(fallout), flyingsit, sit/sit, O ftwk, 2-loop, sit/backsit, spreadeagles, 2-toe, 1-axel, flying camel.
Shaun Rogers (2) - 3-toe, 3-axel(stepout), 3-sal, deathdrop/backsit(5), 3-axel(handdown), O ftwk, 3-loop(handdown), sit/backsit, 2-lutz, 2-flip, camel/sit/backsit, | ftwk, scratchspin.
Of course - the big disappointment is that Alexei Yagudin didn't skate - his name was on the start order. He was present to watch though.
Novice, Junior, Senior ladies to come - those take a bit longer. :P

Novice Ladies FS Final
Valerie Kim (9) - layback(6), waltzed-axel, 2-lutz/2-toe, 2-axel(fall), flying camel(4), 2-flip, 2-sal, spirals(2), 2-lutz, 2-loop, O ftwk, camel(wobbly)/sit/layback/backsit/X. Carmen.
Susan Hopkins (5) - 2-axel, 2-toe(fall), 2-lutz/2-loop, 3-sal(cheat/2-foot), spreadeagle, camel/layback/Biel/backsit, 2-flip/2-toe, 2-loop, flying camel(6), | ftwk, ina, layback(7).
Angela Kaufmann (8) - layback(6), 2-flipt/2-toe/2-toe, 2-loop, 2-sal, 2-flip, flying camel(5), ina, 2-axel(fall), 2-lutz/2-loop, | ftwk(above average), 2-toe-2toe, layback/backsit. Phantom of the Opera.
Sasha Tokarev (4) - camel/sit/layback/crossfoot, 2-loop, 2-axel, 3-sal/2-toe, 1-lutz-2-toe, layback(4), spirals(2), 2-flip, 2-axel-2-flip, O ftwk, 2-lutz, flying? camel?. Of the top 4, I was least impressed with Sasha's program... to me Juliana and Danielle's programs were a lot better, Melanie's was ok. Melanie's jumps are smaller than Sasha's, but her skating flow quality seems better to me.
Juliana Cannarozzo (2) - 2-axel, camel/layback/back-upright, 3-sal-turns-2-toe, 2-flip/2-toe, layback, 3-loop, 2-lutz, ina, split, 3-sal, | ftwk(good), 2-axel-2-toe, sitspin. Very nice program, it wasn't just the jumps.
Justine Weinberg (11) - 2-lutz/2-toe/2-loop(fall), 2.5?-sal(2-foot)/2-toe, 2-flip/2-toe(touchdown), sit/backsit, | ftwk, spirals(3), flying camel(3), ina, 1-axel(2-foot), 2-lutz, camel/layback/Biel/backsit/Y-spin.
Tanya Aziz (6) - 2-lutz/2-toe, 2-flip-2-sal, layback(6), 2-axel(fall), 2-lutz, | ftwk, flying camel(4)/illusion(1), spirals(3, good), Russian to 2-flip/2-toe(saved), camel/layback/backsit. Nicely presented.
Gillian Grogan (7) - 2-flip/2-toe, 2-axel(fall), 3-sal(fall), 2-lutz/2-toe(saved), spreadeagle-ina-spiral, layback, | ftwk, Russian, walley to 2-flip, flying camel(3), camel/layback/backsit/Y.
Danielle Shepard (1) - 3-loop, 3-flip(2-foot)/2-toe, 2.5-lutz, inside-axel/3-toe/2-toe, deathdrop/backsit, layback(5), 2-axel, 3-sal, Charlotte, | ftwk(good), 2-lutz/2-toe, sit/^Sandhuspin/backsit/crossfoot. Very impressive performance, and has the package, not just the jumps.
Melanie Drogseth (3) - 3-sal/1-toe, 2-lutz, flying camel(3), 2-toe, 2-loop, layback(6), ina, 1-axel(2-foot), 3-sal, 2-flip/2-toe, ?/backsit/Y.
Melyssa James (12) - 2-flip/half-loop/2-sal, 2-lutz/1-loop, 1-axel, 1-axel(2-foot), camel/layback/backsit/crossfoot, spirals(2), 3-sal(cheat,2-foot), 2-flip/2-toe, 2-axel(2-foot), camel with catchfoot, 2-lutz, deathdrop/backsit.
Laura Duell (10) - 2-loop, layback(8), 2-sal, 2-axel(fall), 2-toe, 2-lutz/2-loop, camel, S ftwk, 2-flip, 1-axel-2-toe, camel/sit/backsit.

Junior Ladies FS
Jessica Houston (1) - 3-toe/2-toe, 2-flip/2-toe, camel/sit/layback/pancake, 3-loop(fall), layback with catchfoot(5), ina-spreadeagle-spiral, 3-sal, | ftwk(good), 3-toe, walley-walley-2-axel. She was struggling with the loop a bit - not holding on to the landing - did that during the warmup too. It looked pretty close between her and Brianna... I think Brinna is a slightly stronger jumper but Jess has the better program content and presentation.
Kayla Freeborn (8) - 2-flip, 3-sal, layback(9), 3-loop(fall), camel/donut/back-camel/backsit, 1-axel, ina, 3-toe(shaky), spreadeagle, 2-lutz/2-toe, 2-axel(fallout), spirals(3), | ftwk, flying camel.
Andrea Skomurski (11) - 2-lutz/2-loop, 2-loop(fall), 2-toe, camel/sit/layback/backsit, 2-flip/2-loop, layback(8), spiral, 2-axel(cheat,stepout), spirals(2), 2-sal(fall), 2-lutz(fall), flying camel(2)/illusion(1)/sit, | ftwk, 2-flip(fall), scratchspin.
Brianna Perry (2) - 3-lutz(fall), LFO spiral, 3-sal, 2-axel, 3-toe, flying sit/backsit/scratch, RBO spiral, 3-sal, LFO RBO spirals, 2-flip, flying camel, | ftwk(good, has 2 stag type jumps), walley-2-axel(fall), camel/sit/backsit/crossfoot.
Katie Thordarson (3) - 3-lutz(fall), 3-toe, 2-axel, flying camel(4)-hop-backsit/scratch, 2-loop, 3-sal, LFO RBO spirals, layback(10), | ftwk, 3-toe/2-toe, camel/sit/layback/backsit/scratch.
Young-in Bae (6) - 2-axel, 3-sal/2-toe, 2-lutz/2-loop, flying camel(4), 2-loop, 2.5-toe(2-foot), 2-flip, RFO spiral, layback(6), O ftwk, split to 2-axel, spreadeagle, Charlotte, camel/layback/backsit/scratch.
Sarah Farley (5) - layback(10), 2-axel/2-toe, 3-toe-2-toe, fallout of trying to enter some spin, 2-flip, 2-sal, 2-loop/2-loop, LFI RBI RFO spirals, 2-lutz, 3-toe(cheat,2-foot), | ftwk, 1-axel, split, camel/sit/backsit/Y, flying camel(3).
Michelle Boulos (4) - 2-axel(stepout), 2-lutz/2-toe, 3-sal, O ftwk, flying sit(5), 3-toe, 3-loop(fall), layback(6), walley-walley to 2-flip, LFO RBO spirals, camel/layback/Biel/backsit/scratch.
Devon Dillon (10) - 2-loop, 2-lutz/2-toe(stepout), 3-sal(fall), 2-axel(turnout), camel/layback/backcamel/backsit, spirals(4), 3-loop(fall), layback(7), walley to 2-axel(2-foot), split to 2-lutz, O ftwk, 2-flip, deathdrop/backsit/pancake.
Kimberly Holzthum (12) - 2-lutz(handdown), 2-loop/2-loop(stepout), layback, 2-axel(cheat), 1-lutz, flying camel(3), 2-flip-2-toe, Charlotte, RBO spiral, 2-sal, camel/sit/layback/backsit/scratch, 2-toe, 2-loop, O ftwk.
Leah Agler (7) - note she tried some triples that were badly cheated/rotated (like last rotation on the ice) on the ice and so strange looking, my notes are probably messed up as well. 2-axel, deathdrop/backsit, 2-lutz/1-toe, 2.5loop, O ftwk, flying camel(6), 3-sal, 2-flip, 2?, layback, ina, 2-lutz, spirals(3), walley to 2.5-sal, camel/sit/layback/Biel/backsit/Y.
Haley Ellis (9) - 2-toe, 3-flip(fall), flying camel(6), 2-axel(fall), 3-loop, 2-lutz, layback, LFO RFI RBI spirals, / ftwk, 2-sal, 1-axel, 3-flip(cheat/stepout), camel/layback/backsit/pancake/scratch.

Senior Ladies FS Final
I'm just going to post some skaters, not all, was zoning out by then, and so I didn't take very good notes of some. I don't have results either, didn't stay for them.
Jane Bugaeva - 2-axel, 3-lutz/2-toe?(it looked more like a 3-toe to me), flying camel(8), 3-flip, LFI RBO RFI O-spirals, 3-loop(grinded to a halt on landing, hung on), layback(8), walley to 3-flip/2-toe, 2-sal, camel/sit/backsit/crossfoot, S ftwk(I prefer her SP ftwk better), split to 3-toe(fall), ?spin.
Megan Williams-Stuart - 3-loop/2-toe, 3-lutz(fall), camel/layback/backsit/crossfoot, 2-axel(stepout), 3-flip(fallout), ina, 3-sal(fall), layback(6), 3-loop, 2-lutz/2-loop, | ftwk, spreadeagle-2-axel, flying-camel(4), scratchspin. Wasn't exactly her night.
Kristin Tudisco - 2-axel-2-toe, camel/sit/layback/backsit/crossfoot, 3-toe, 3-sal/2-toe, O ftwk, flying sit, 2-loop, 2-flip, layback(6), S spirals(4), 2-axel(fallout), 3-sal, caught her toepick and fell in between, flying camel/illusion/sit, 3-toe/2-toe, scratchspin.
Katherine Hadford - 3-loop, 3-lutz, 3-toe/3-toe, layback, 3-flip, sit/backsit, donut, ina, | ftwk, 3-flip/2-toe, popped open on an axel, some sort of entry into a backsit, O spirals(4, her pattern was circular sort of but to me it looked much more like a square), 3-sal/2-toe, camel/sit/layback/Biel/reverse Biel.
Her program seemed to flow with a lot more ease compared to Jane's, so I'd guess Katherine 1st, Jane 2nd, and Megan 3rd.
Darya Zuravicky - 2-loop, 2-lutz, 3-flip(fall), flying camel(6), layback with catchfoot, 3-toe, 2-sal, spirals(2), layback, 3-toe/2-toe, 2-axel, O ftwk, camel/layback/backsit/Y.
That's it folks. 8-)

Thank you so much for the reports, Adrian! Great to have some information about the skating rather than just having the results. :) Sounds like Griazev, Wong, Shepard, Cannarozzo, Bugaeva, Hadford, Scott Smith, Houston, Perry, and Thordarson had some great skates! :)

I can post a semi report for novice men FS for the top 4.
Yavin Frye Patch (1) landed a nice triple toe, but fell on both double axels. Solid double jumps, and interesting spins, but had trouble holding them I thought. His program seemed a bit boring towards the end, he needs to try and liven it up a bit, I thought.
Daniyel Cohen (2) had big doubles, a cheated double axel and he fell, pretty good spins. I remember him doing 3 double flips, I would imagine they are his best jump. Interesting program.
Matthew Morin (3) had good choreography and he flowed pretty well, he does some crazy things with his arms during his jumps sometimes though, I can't really explain it.
Michael Goldberg (4)I'm pretty sure was the only one in the entire group that skated a clean program. His doubles were all very solid. His program was the most fun to watch I thought. He landed a clean double axel in the warm up but I wasnt sure if it was clean in the program. His triple sal may have had a tiny cheat on it. *Also to note he had very good spins! I would have placed him first, I was surprised only one judge picked him first.
If I had one thing to say about this event it was that I thought it was a little bit strange that Yavin and Michael were the only ones that I saw land a clean double axel, and only half the group even attempted a double axel. These boys are in novice men, they should all have clean double axels at this point. They should all have them by regionals if they want to get to Easterns. I was hoping Stephen Carriere would compete, I heard he was great in the short program, and that Yavin was great too. I wish I had seen it!
