when i subscribed, i would see reports of a new issue here on the boards and then have to wait four weeks for the same issue to arrive at my home...with great regularity...

meanwhile, the renewal notices showed up like clockwork even before i got my first issue of a two year subscription...sound familiar???

Yeah, I think that's happened to me once or twice... a month.

I must be in the minority here. I always get mine within two days of when it shows up at the Borders near my rink; in fact, I usually have it before then. Are we talking about the issue with Nancy Kerrigan on the cover? Because I got that like two weeks ago. I've never had problems with IFS, but I know a lot of people have.

Hey CanAmSkater! I received the Nancy Kerrigan cover issue on June 18 so if you just got yours you do have a problem. I always mark the date I receive my magazines because I have had subscription problems in the past with a skating mag altho never with IFS. I'll be looking for the next issue of IFS in the middle of August.

The July/August issue is the 50th issue with the red cover and nancy kerrigan on it right? Mine says August 2003 on it, but I also got mine in June because I took it with me on my flight to Oregon on June 28th. What is the one with the green cover also on the IFS site?

It's the same issue but with 2 different covers. They've done this before. I recall an issue a few years ago with 2 different Ilia Kulik covers. The Kerrigan issue is July/August '03 & you should have received it in June.

I thought so too. But it never came. Anyone else not get theirs in June that was suposed to?

I would definately call IFS to see what's up.. it's old already and you really should have gotten this a LONG time ago. I've heard of slow delivery from post offices (I'm in that category) but this is ridiculous.

BOY, do I agree with this! I guess I should be happy that I so far have got my issues. And I am, I do really like the magazine.

However, I have a question. Are there any of you here in the last couple years who renewed your subscription when they said they would include your 2002, OR 2003 Calenday FREE with it-- and actually GOT?

I won't bore you with the excuses that lady !! that answers their toll free number during the day gave me for not getting the 2002 one.

And no, I didn't get the 2003 one either!

Oh, and in each case I renewed right away when I got the first notice. Don't want to give the impression I might have done this months later, and maybe they really did run out of calendars.

Has this happened to any one else? I really would like to know.

Betty

I got that one, but they skipped the previous 2 issues and said that they sent them here, but that they came back to them. Somehow I doubt that  . After numerous calls and comntacting the post office, I finally got my 2 missed-issues, which they originally said *I* had to pay for b/c they were back-issues. I would call them, FSWer.

Blades, I received tons of renewal notices too. The last one said
"What happened?" And wondering why I wasn't renewing LOL! Can you believe those crazy people actually called me one evening? Yep, wanting me to renew again. I was nice and just said that by the time I received their magazine the news was all old.......that I get it alot faster just reading the web.:D

I always just read IFS and Blades at Barnes and Noble. I don't think either of them are worth the money of the subscription cost. As mentioned previously, the news is often old.

Believe it or not but I have never had a problem with IFS. I get the magazine in a timely manner & always receive the calendar before the new year begins. I don't have a problem with renewal notices, either but that may be because I usually renew for 2 or 3 years at a time.

*Light bulb goes on* I always wondered why I didn't get the constant renewal notices everyone seems to complain about. Maybe that's why. I also have had no problem as far as issues and/or the calendar being late either. I wondered at first if location had something to do with it, because I'm only about an hour or two away from where IFS publishes, but another poster on this thread who's had issues with them (no pun intended) lives only about half an hour from me, so I guess that's probably not a factor. Go figure (again, no pun intended).

I had always gotten IFS from the beginning; one year my daughter's school was selling magazines, so I checked off the renewal box and sent it in even though I had about 11 months left on my original subscription. I just figured to help the school out. Well, I started receiving two issues at a time; instead of a subscription extension, they just started a new one. I made several long distance phone calls, got passed to other people, and was finally told without an apology, that there was nothing they could do about it; that the schools were only allowed to sell new subscriptions. (Even tho the advertisements for the mag in the order catalog said no such thing.) When one of the subscriptions ran out and I didn't renew, I got a notice asking why. I returned a two page letter explaining, and never heard a word in return. Worst customer relations I have ever encountered.

On what week of the month you are suposed to get it does it come? The first week?

I got what was apparently a renewal notice, but it read like they were asking me to start a new subscription. So I ignored it.

So I didn't pay the renewal - they didn't stop the subcription, either. I suddenly, after going two issues past my paid-to date, get a notice telling me my subscription is cancelled, and that I owed them money or they'd send a bill of less than $10 to a collection agency.

I sent them their money - along with a note indicating my displeasure regarding their dated, stale news (always old by the time it's issued), and offering a tissue to Mr. Lund (must need one after all that crying he did in his magazine after Worlds).

Got my Oksana Baiul (August) issue a couple days ago. ;)

The Oksana Baiul issue is the Oct.'03 issue, not the August issue altho we received it in Aug. This could be the source of confusion when asking about missing issues.
