If someone's let you know where to find the results can you post the link? That'd be awesome

Any reports for Junior/Senior ladies/men?

Here is what I know - some I saw and some is reported through a friend that stayed longer than I did. Junior men short programs were awful -very disappointing. Heard that Junior ladies were not great either. Senior ladies short program were not great either, except for Boucher who skated relatively clean and definitely deserved to win. Junior men long were better and Vaughan Chipeur was clearly the winner there. Junior ladies again very dissappointing - no one stood out. The surprise of the day was in the Senior ladies long program when Sokal skated great (triple sow, toe, loop and flip) and ended up third when she clearly should have won. Billings was disappointing and no one could understand how she got second. Anyway, this is what I was told by someone who stayed to watch - we were on our way home by then. It appears that the judging is bad at every level. How sad!

Thanks so much for the report! Do you know the placement results of the junior men and senior ladies?

Someone posted a few comments on the senior ladies FS (Boucher & Billings) and Chipeur on the ISU board at:
http://forums.isu.org/viewtopic.php?t=58

Senior ladies
1st Monica Boucher, nice performance 2 triple toes one in combination a great attempt at the triple lutz, beautiful choreographed programs.
Amanda Billings opened long program with a beautiful triple lutz, very difficult program with difficult field moves and footwork, beautifully choreographed.

Carolina Kostner is currently training at Royal Glenora, but did not compete at Wild Rose due to injury.

Junior Men - I think Vaughan won both. Craig Finney was second I think. Jessie Smith was third, I think. Senior ladies - Monica Boucher won both. Alesha Checkly was second in short and fourth in long. Courtney Sokal was third in long - I think 5th in short and I can't remember the rest. Wait Kirsten(?) Avis was third (I think) in short. It appears that this is one competition where placement isn't really a good indication of how the competition really went.

it appears that a well choreographed program is not worth much...perhaps a higher base mark with more interesting, difficult connecting steps? a triple lutz, triple toe and triple loop versus a triple flip (hands down) triple loop, triple sal, and toe.....it's too bad if skating has come down to just the jumps...perhaps the new system will allow higher marks for a clean triple lutz combo

hi! um just to clear things up...
i did a triple flip (NO HANDS DOWN! ;)), triple toe double toe (one hand down), triple loop, and triple sow double toe.
amanda did a clean triple toe (not sure if it was in combination) and a two foot triple lutz and a double axel.
... if in fact what dude was talking about was the senior ladies long program at wildrose :)
monica did two triple toes (one in combination), a triple sow and two double axels!
bye!

good job courtney! Thanx for the results. Do you know how Craig skated? It really sucks being so out of the loop from skating, you'll have to keep me up to date.
ARe you competing BC Summerskate? Whistler? Did Alesha and Corrine compete?
Good luck at the rest of your summer comps!

hey! i think craig landed one toe in his program. i'd have to ask him to know for sure! we don't have whistler this year either! hmm maybe because we were so "good" last year??
i'm not going to anymore summer competitions. i'm going to winnipeg for a week to visit the family!
corinne came last in the short and fifth in the long.
alesha came second in the short and fourth in the long.
! bye!
