OMG, Josee and Brian Orser and of course Isabelle and Lloyd.... I wanna go! Those 4 alone would be enough for me to be happy with the show. Will it be broadcast on tv?

I wish I was able to go. The cast sounds FANTASTIC !!!!!!! But unfortunetly I can't go to everything. I guess I'll have to stick it out till Oct. to see Kurt's show.

Hmmm, no one told me that you can't go to everything. My skating show budget is what makes me your typical "starving university student".

That's true Erin, one CAN go to everything and trust me if I lived down south, in the Toronto area I would definitly make the attempt to go to more events. However I must travel - and that cost's me alot of $$$$ so I have to limit myself to what I want to attend. And with Kurt Browning's show in Oct, and Skate Canada at the end of Oct. I have to loose out on other events.

Oh, I completely understand the travelling costs!

I'm from a small town in Northwestern Ontario (as close to Manitoba as is possible) so there really aren't many skating events around here (Nationals in 2001 in Winnipeg but that's 2.5 hours away). But with being at university in Waterloo (WLU) I'm definitely going broke from skating trips. Being so close to everything is great but at the same time it makes it so much harder to save money! ;) Oh well, it's worth it!

See Erin I'd do exactly what your doing, living so close to so many great events in Southern Ontario. I am kinda kicking myself that I didn't get tickets to go to the Mariposa Gala. I mean Barrie isn't too too far, so I think I am going to consider that for next year.

I went to Dreams On Ice back in 1998 and had a great time. Was a great show as well. Izzy & Lloyd will be missed once they stop touring. I believe they will no longer be touring come 2004. At least that is what I read in Spotlight On Skating Magzine. There is a great article with Izzy & Lloyd

I'm going with a group of online skating buddies! We'll be pretty hard to miss...sitting centre ice, on-ice seats!

And I'm pretty sure the website is:

Some advice to those going tonight...

Kleenex...Bring lots of Kleenex..

I'm not even trying to be funny. If I was going, I'd be a mess at the end of it knowing it's the last DOI and one of the last times I'd be seeing Lloyd and Izzy live. Enjoy those who are going and it's a great cause they're supporting this year!!

Had a phone call from friends who attended, saying that the final number was skated to Clay Aiken's "This Is The Night" which is a real kicker for those of us who are skating/Clay fans :D

I went to the show last night and had a great time. Isabelle and Lloyd have always put on a good show, year after year, and this one was no exception. I had on-ice seats and was fortunate enough to attend the reception as well. I had an amazing time both during the show and after. Getting to meet all of the skaters and thank them for a wonderful evening was a great experience. It's always fun to see the skaters off the ice. Most of them are so tiny...it's cute to see them. I couldn't believe how little Tim Goebel and Anabelle Langlois were in person, and I was so happy to finally meet Josée Chouinard in person. She was so sweet. I had an awesome time. It's too bad that it was the last Dreams on Ice...it's been great having the shows here in Windsor. If it wasn't for Isabelle and Lloyd back in 1994, I would probably not be hooked on skating.

I heard that Izzy & Lloyd will be touring with CSOI 2004 and that will be their final time touring !

One of my friends asked (this was at the reception last night) if the Vancouver stop of SOI would be Isabelle and Lloyd's last show and they said that they were planning a farewell show for fall next year.

Oooh thanks for the info Erin. That is so wonderful to hear. I am thrilled that we'll get to see them skate one last time during CSOI - and having a Farwell Show in the fall next year is FABULOUS!

Thanks to everyone who posted reviews (and photos) here--it sounded like a great show! So does this mean this wasn't be the last DOI show after all. :D

BTW, according to another review of this show on the Skatefans list, a local station called TV Cogeco (Cable 11) taped this show for broadcast and it'll air Oct. 4th at 5pm, Oct. 8th at 8pm, Oct. 11th at 5pm and 10pm, Oct. 12th at 7pm, and Oct. 13th at 9pm. I don't know how many people here would get this station, but sadly, I'm afraid I don't.

I didn't do the whole on ice thing, but wished I had I guess, as it were we were dead center ice but row g which was really up there and had glass in my way (so not really conducive to photographs, but I tried anyways.....we will see how they turn out.) Mom took digitals and only a very few are really clear.
The group they had there live singin, the McAuley Brothers were good but it was the concensus of all around me that we didn't really come to watch people sing. I had wondered when I saw this listed on the information how it would work, and I kinda thought the would be doing backgroud music for the skaters, but they had two portions of the show all to themselves. To give them credit they did really try to add a skating aspect, sliding across the ice in dress shoes. On to the skating I guess....

never been to a dreams on ice before so not sure really what to expect but it was very simular to a mariposa gala in set up, an introduction of all the skaters doing a spin/jump/lift and then all the skaters doing a solo for each half of the show and a finale with the same thing, highlighting each skater. The highlight for me, seeing the finale done to Clay Aiken's this is the night. I have been waiting for someone to skate to Clay......what a beautiful combination and appropriate mood for the ending. I am having a hard time remembering particular songs as I did not take notes. I hope I will get a memory soon...:?? I did not at all need kleenex thou...but I bit back tears when B&E did the Garth Brooks song....no idea what the exact title is...They didn't have a program that said in what order or what they were performing to so I can't really help out there..
This was my first time seeing Jumpin Joe and boy can he still jump, really neat to see. Always wonderful to see Brian who did story of my life whish I lurve! & another not sure......, Jennifer did teach me tigger and I think her competitive short (tango music) which if she does the combo on the end of one of the jumps she'll be up there this year. Tim did American Pie and umm a harder rock song the title fails me, a popular tune in the last comple of months by Creed, in a black leather vest with rinestone studded cross shape apparently this is the same # he did for the summer COI Tour. S&P did Come away with me by NOrah Jones...its such a beautiful piece.....and a new one I haven't seen from them before. A Queen number, Who Wants to Live Forever (thanks mushi for the FYI)
