I attended the Collingwood Elvis (Presley) Festival this weekend in Ontario, and they were handing out cards for a new skating/music show, scheduled for Quebec and Ontario in Spring 2004. I will quote the card:

"The Tour Continues....The Legend Continues
ROCK THE ICE
A FANtastic show - Top Professional Tribute Artists portray different eras of Elvis' career.
Accompanying the Tribute Artists are Professional International Ice Show Skaters & Headliners. Plus, musicians on the ice play Elvis' music.
Penticton, British Columbia 2003 Featured such stars as Stephen Kabakos & Emanuel Sandhu in this truly amazing show not to be missed.
Spring 2004 - Ontario & Quebec."

There is a picture of "Stephen Kabakos, Images of the King 2001 World Champion" (awesome performer by the way, I watched a set of his yesterday), and a small head-shot of "Emmanuel Sandhu, 2001 & 2003 Senior Canadian Mens Champion".

On the back is a "Tell Us What You Think" section, with a spot to fill out name and addy info to get on the mailing list. There are 3 questions asked:
1. Possibly attending a show, approx. how many people?
2. Which of the following are best for you - Windsor, London, Kitchener, Mississauga, Hamilton, Markam, Richmond Hill, Collingwood, Sudbury, Oshawa, Barrie, Kingston, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, or Laval.
3. Which of the following are best for you - Thursday 7 pm, Friday 7 pm, Saturday 7 pm, Sunday 3 pm

The address to mail the card in is given as:

There's a ditty at the bottom that says to feel free to submit additional names of family/friends that might be interested in this event. So I thought posting it here might be a good idea. Let's show some interest!!!!!

How interesting indeed.

First of all my cousin actually participated in that event this past weekend. I've heard some really great things about that event.

Anyways, back to the topic on hand.

I'd be interested to see ANY skating event come back to Sudbury, even if it does a tribute to THE KING himself.

So the infomation you provided can anyone submit their answers???

Am I the only one who thought this show was a tribute to Elvis Stojko when I first read that news release?

I was in Collingwood this weekend and at Stephen's show. I actually met some of the skaters who performed in the show.
It is kind of like a StarSkates Idea with a stage and Elvis music and a live band.
It seemed to really fly in BC where they did one show. It featured alot of skaters who train in BC.
Hopefully it will take off here too!
