cronin and shales are looking good. throw 3s, 3twist, sbs 2ax and great presentation. they have improved a lot since nationals.
i also saw kim casey when i was in lake placid. she had amazing presentation and lots of speed but was struggling with her triple jumps (the ice was very hard though so that might have been part of it). The same was pretty much true of both emilie lacoste and stephanie trombley. both were trying 3lutz in the short (neither of them landed it in lake placid). all 3 girls had huge 2axels.
i saw terra findlay at spring skate. she had a bad skate but tried 3lutz in the short (along with 2axel and 2flip). I also saw mandy valentine (doesn't compete until thornhill). she had very big jumps (2axel, 3sal, and a HUGE 3toe) but some of her other skills left room for improvement. This competition was a while ago though so a lot could have changed since then.
Well, as we have been hearing alot, Jamie Forsythe is skating amazingly well. He now has his triple loop pretty consistantly (but I'm sure you already knew that).

Anyone know why Cronin & Shales of Canada have pulled out of the Mentor Jr pairs event? Too bad as I was interested to see how they would fare.

It says on the SC website that Jacinthe Lariviere will be going along with the team to Ohio. I wonder if she's coaching?

Unfortunately, Felicia Gostisbehere (5th at 2003 Novice Nationals) has withdrawn from the Edmonton Junior ladies event due to injury.

Hmm, I wonder if there will be a replacement. Jessica Leatham is next in line, but she's scheduled to compete novice at the same event and has probably been focusing on those programs. Wouldn't be a bad idea to invite one of the lower-ranked junior ladies who doesn't have any JGP assignments; that would put Shanell Noji at the top of the list based on nationals finishes.
I hope Felicia's injury isn't too serious. Unfortunately she's skating out of such a competitive regional and sectional this year that anything which interferes with her training is going to be a big problem. :(

It's a nice idea, especially since Noji didn't compete in a NACS the year she won the Novice silver medal (2001) for some reason, but I'm thinking it might be too late for her to be invited now? The competition starts this Thursday in Edmonton.

FYI, I was told today that there will not be a replacement for Felicia G. in the junior ladies event in the Edmonton NACS.
Good luck to all the skaters in Edmonton and Mentor, Ohio this week! Looking forward to reading some reports from both competitions! :)
