somehow, ya gotta wonder if that wasn't quite a direct quote...

kinda like the spelling in the article...some things got a little wonky methinks...;)

I took "I never knew the guy" to mean that she didn't know him personally or had never spoken to him before he called. I'm pretty sure she knew who he was. ;)

After watching the TSN interview from Canadians and the Lee/Faustino CBC interview on TV, I'd say the reporter used "his words" for Hjordis' thoughts. Seems to me Hjordis is much better spoken than the article is written.

As far as the "I never knew the guy," goes ... the reporter said although Hjordis knew all the Canadian Champions by name, she never thought any of them would know her. I take that to me she definately knew who Lenny was but had never actually met him.

Too bad there wasn't a photo of them.

I agree with Blades, what's with all the spelling mistakes???

This was sort of a weird (spelling, sentence structure) article, although interesting. I wonder where Coquitlam (that's the town of the newspaper) is? I've been around BC but never encountered it.

The spelling looked funny because there should be a stroke through the O of Hjordis and an accent over the last E in LaRiviere. But the software doesn't recognize those letters (not in English) so it stuck in something else.
