I heard that Nick Taxler is skating with a new partner, a pair skater from Texas.
I understand she only has her preliminary dances !
Thats hard to believe, why bother ?
Can someone in Dallas confirm ?

Why not? If Nick is still interested in competing, then he should do so. As far as teaming up with a pair skater who only has her preliminary dances, I'd like to remind you of another skater who was in a similar boat around 1998 or 1999....Emilie Nussear. She turned out to be one fine dance partner for Brandon Forsyth, or at least I thought so.
So, with the right partner it could work. Personally I hope it's true that Nick does have a partner. Best of luck to him in whatever he chooses to do....and if that's to skate with a someone new, best wishes to both of them.

In answer to your question, Nick has teamed up with Alex Snyder.

I think the young lady in question is working on her gold dances and may even have passed one or two at a recent test session.

Wasn't Morgan Matthews a pairs skater as well!

I know nothing about the situation in question, but a pair skater can certainly switch to dance with good results. Besides Emilie, Melissa Ralph, Tanith Belbin, and even Shae-Lynn Bourne were pair skaters before turning to dance. They're used to partnering, the big switch is working on stroking and edges, edges, edges.

but only after she trained dance. she is a remarkable skater. i think she started dance very early, moved to dallas to compete with trevor bird originally, and then moved to colorado springs and trained pairs. i saw her in pairs and she is fearless.
i should think she and max would go senior and not play it "safe" based on her gutsy approach to skating, but does anyone affiliated with the sc of ny have any info on whether or not they have tested senior fd?
icedancesk8er thought so, but i think this is not reliable info.
by the way, traxler has had a lot of "false starts" with a number of partners (including crystal beckerdite) since he split from katy hill quite a while ago, if i remember correctly. i saw them compete that last season, and never could figure out why they split.
however, it will be interesting to see if he and his new partner continue past lake placid. so far, his track record has not been that great in the "stick-to-itive-ness" department.

Matthews/Zavozin tested the Westminster Waltz, Quickstep and Argentine Tango at the Southwest Florida FSC on February 2, 2003. The site is updated as of July 8th and a Senior Free Dance has not been tested unless they have done it elsewhere. I have heard they have been advised to stay in Juniors. I also agree this would be a good season to make the move to Seniors and Morgan is without a doubt the star of this team.

One of my all time favorites, Isabelle Duchesney, was a Pair skater with her brother originally.
And, Jayne Torvill was first a Pair skater!

First of all Alex Snyder is a talented skater, I believe she has tested from Pre up to Gold since January,
she still needs two Golds.
I have seen Alex and Nick in training, and they look good.
Good for Nick, in taking a chance and thinking "out of the box"
I wish them the best in Lake Placid.
People should try to be more positive about new teams.

and there certainly are a lot of them...
i think his track record is getting in the way here, though, and that's why the initial comment was posted. he's shed a number of partners since he last competed at nationals.
there could also be a bit of cynicism here because most people have the attitude that if a skater can't jump, first they try pairs and then dance, rather than realize that some really have a natural talent for dance and would have excelled had they started earlier.
so, lp isn't that far off, i guess we'll all hear soon enough!
maybe this time the partnership will stick.

What?meworry? why so many negative comments about Nick ?
I wonder what your motivation is ?
If my posts have offended anyone I apologize, however it is sad that people think that it is ok to be negative, and because they know how the boards "work" they are protected.
Its not healthy to hold all that bitterness is your heart, spend less time on the boards and more time in therapy.
One thing I am sure of despite your efforts to discredit Nick Traxler, he will succeed in skating, true talent always does.
Keep your chins up in Lake Placid Nick and Alexandra, Good Luck.

Ouch!
Also....I don't think Crystal Beckerdite is anyone to reference as far as not sticking to partnerships. I hear there have been problems with her work ethic.

sorry, wrong id!
but i have talked with them and others at competitions.
crystal was the most recent partner and there's no secret about other attempts. as far as i know the hill girl hasn't been interested in competing for a while now.
i did notice that you just signed on today.
i do love to chat in the stands and have learned much about the nuttiness of this sport.
by the way, last i looked at my post here, it was sort of positive about the team. but i guess you're closely associated and a bit sensitive. sorry about that.
by the way, there is someone out there who keeps telling people this. it's getting a bit wierd.
??!!?, i thought crystal stayed with matt healey and raphael kelling for a while? or is it too far back in my memory to still be accurate?

Can we please stick to the subject of a possible partner without draggin' old laundry in a public setting? Feel free to blast each other into oblivion via PM but not on this board. This thread can be fine without the negative comments. You already know I have no patience for nonsense so I hope this thread stays open so long as it stays civil.

Neither for longer than two seasons.

Oh Please, wrong id ????????
Don't think so, several people on the boards know the true id of
what?me worry? But I do apologize for hurting anyones feelings.
Anyway if its mistaken id why would you "what?meworry?" about it.
Also your comments about Nick were hardly positive, try again.

Back to the subject of Nick's new partner. Alex did not have much success in either freestyle or pairs and just recently came back to skating after quiting awhile. Nick is a very accomplished skater in my opinion it while take awhile for her to catch up to his skill level.

well, as i said before, maybe this one will stick. it's kinda hard to succeed in ice dance without a partner!

Interesting editing icetexan but my warning still stands. One more post that alledges anyone's real name on this board and draggin' past "feuds" with people that cannot defend themselves on this board and you are absolutely going to be banned from this board. This warning stands - editing my warning will only get you banned faster.

Ah come on, lets give this girl a fair chance. After all, didn't Peter Tchernyshev place 13th in Senior dance with Sophie Eliazova before teaming up with a junior dancer and taking 5th place their first year together?

Emilie Nusseur was also pretty unknown as a pair skater, when she teamed up with Brandon. Did not seem to hold her back.

Strange that she has been listed on the partner search board run by one of her own family members?
Good luck to this new team in Lake Placid and in the coming year!

interesting.
there's no listing on the two major searchs, usfsa and ice-dance.com, but there is an old one on don korte/sk8stuff, if you enter the right criteria.
are you sure it's for real?
"james" at 400 lbs is also on there!

oh, m'gosh! does that bring back memories. i was sitting in a lower level row an i could hear him "oooff" on the lifts and he dropped her, splat, on the ice right in front of us---we couldn't keep a straight face! ouch!
and you're right. what ever happened to the days when teams were expected to "develop." with the advent of igor's teams, we started expecting shooting stars to rocket to the top instantly (sorry about the mixed metaphor).
navarro/shmalo are a good example of gradual development.
