Article about Lina Johansson
Here is an article from last weeks newspaper when Lina was on a camp in Tyringe, Sweden.

Hot candidate on the ice

Lina, 14, skates all the summer to take a medal in the 2006 olympics.

Other persons go away to get sun, beaches and bath. Lina Johansson go away to get ice.

- I skate three hours every day. I canīt have i better, she says.
Her goal: To win the olympics 2006.

The temperature in the icehall in Tyringe is around 8 grades. The cold goes into the skin for a person who has summer clothes. But the ice goes smooth under Linaīs skates, Berry Whites comes out from the CD player and outside is it sun.

-This is my best summerholiday, Lina says.

She is the biggest Olympic figureskatinghope Sweden ever has had and she dedicate herself for practise in Tyringe for three week, there she has intensiv practise. She skates for three hour every day, has balett, runs and weightlifting every day. She and a few young eliteskaters sleeps in beds in a school and the first practise beginns around nine in the morning and the ends around nine in the evening.

- Tiered? A little, but it is so much fun, Lina says.

She began to play icehockey when she was six years old and her coach Ela Magnusson saw her. Ela became her coach in figureskating one year later.

- She saw me in a helmet and much clothes and liked my way to move, Lina says.

- Lina is a lovely talent, she know what she wants and she is serious about her skating, itīs inspiering to work with her, Ela says.

The biggest part of Linaīs life has been dedicated to figureskating, the school has she managed to to beside without thinking about it and she is good. For every year she has been better on the ice and now she is the best one in Sweden.

-But she is not bigheaded about it, a friend says.

- It is fun to practise when Lina is on the ice, you learn so much, another friend says.

- I am so proud of her, Linaīs father Mats says. He has come to Tyringe from Malmö to look at her for a while.

The whole family helps her.

- We have offered much time and money to help her , but it is very exciting he says.

After the camp in Tyringe the whole Johansson family will go to Flims in Switzerland to be there when Lina practise for the upcoming season for four week. Her coach will be Viktor Kudriatzev.

Oooh, thatīs great I saw her last year in Bratislava for the first time and have a chance to see her improvement once more in Ostrava JGP this fall. :)

Thanks for the article. It's fun to see that the Swedish media is taking such an interest in Lina--I always enjoy the articles you post for us. Best wishes to her for a successful JGP season this fall! :)
