I'm currently revamping our website for Puerto Rico (see below - my sign line) and get asked this at least every other week (and I'm not kidding). Does anyone have information on any other Latin American Country that skates? So far I've heard rumours about 4 countries but only Brazil is the one I have information for. I am updating a FAQ section in our website to have that information for others to get that information out. Can anyone help?

What are the four countries? I know of Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Belize (if I spelled that corrected)

Hmm.. I had Venezuela, Argentina, Chile & Brazil.
Mexico is already in (and have been for almost 20 years) and Brazil apparently is trying according to my sources.
Where does Belize come in? I haven't heard that but that doesn't mean anything ;)

Wow! Thanks! There is some mention (even in the English version of the site) of some sort of "Federation". It's not listed/recognized by the Argentinian Olympic Committee so I'm not sure what that is. I emailed them - let's see if they reply ;)

WHOAH!!!!! That was quick oubik!!!
I got a reply!!!
(portion of it).. Argentina has a new National Sports Federation, Federación Argentina de Patinaje Sobre Hielo (FAPH), recognised on may the 21st 2003 by the local Olympic Committee. At the same time, we are dealing with our application submitted to ISU for the June 4/6 Congress.
Aparently this is their new site: Argentina Link (http://www.patinaje.org.ar/)
