Sounds like P&W have become an off-ice couple as well!:D

what is it about pairs skating that makes skaters fall in love?
Notice how the falling in love part is usually in pairs skating whereas the marriage part is in dance.

I think the anniversary they are talking about is the anniversary of the day they become a skating pair, not an engagement to be married. Although you never know if they will fall in love. Jamie and Daved and Kristy and Kris did. Why not Elizabeth and Sean? Only God knows the future.

P&W are a couple

They were in an article from the Globe and Mail this past week, and it mentioned that they are an on-ice couple as well as off the ice and I think it's great because it will help them more emotionally connect and really start to grab the chemistry on the ice that Jame and David did, hopefully we will se A LOT more of them in the future. They are fabulous

I believe that that article was actually in the National Post. They are an off-ice couple and have been since the beginning.

Come to think of it. Almost all our seniour pairs skaters are a couple. Lenny&Hjordis another new couple(??) are not.

8-)

word on the street is that lenny has a beau...and that they've been an item for a while...

looking at isabelle and lloyd or paul and barb, one can see that a team can be very close and still have seperate lives off the ice...

Actually, Isabelle and Lloyd were a couple off the ice during the early '90s. They broke up after a couple of years because they thought they were spending too much time together and needed a break from each other. Lloyd sounded like he still carried a little bit of a torch for Isabelle when he described her wedding in their second book, but since he got married himself last year, I'm pretty sure he's over it! :)

That's what I thought, too!

Does anyone know where this elusive G&M or National Post article might be found?

I only have a paper copy. I wouldn't worry too much though, it was very short and not very well done. It just talked about how they are perfect partners both on and off the ice and how that adds something special to their skating. It didn't really talk about their skating at all.

Okay, thanks becca. Nationals ought to be v. interesting this year--what with P/W and M/B trying to make the World team, L/A win the title and W/F and perhaps L/F (will they be at Nats?) break onto the podium.
