I saw some event where deveaux/mortimer(sp?) competed this year in novice dance- I think they should be added to novice. Also Who are the Youngs?
I also heard there is another novice team out of Washington or Oregon?

young/young competed as a junior dance team a while back. there were rumors they were training senior last season, but nothing came of it. they competed for quite a while, and improved nicely as they moved up through the levels.
last time they competed, i believe they were working with bernie ford in seatle? but i think i heard that he returned to toronto a year or so ago.
deveaux/mortimer were 17th in final round junior nat'ls (interm). did they compete in one of the jackson series events?

Koob-Doddy/Antonelli are definitely staying novice. From what I understand, they had started a rock and roll FD, and are rearranging it to make an OD, and then adding 30 seconds to last year's FD for the JGP.
Also, I believe the novice team you are thinking of is Cecily Mesa and Kiel Leighton. He is originally from Wahsington, and she from Oregon, but they have been training in San Jose with Marina Klimova and Sergei Ponomarenko.
Whoops! What?meworry? beat me to the punch, but I'll keep this posted anyway.
And though this really belongs on the junior/senior thread:
The Youngs are Kakani Young and Ikaika Young, who were 3rd at junior in the 2001 season, and 8th at senior in the 2002 season. I hear they are back after a one-season hiatus, and planning on skating senior this year. They train in Seattle with Bernard Ford.

he's back in seatle? or was the report erroneous?

I actually don't know if he's back in Seattle. I wasn't aware he had moved, though I haven't heard anything about him in awhile, so I could very well be wrong.

I thought Bernie Ford went to Canada.
Would LOVE to see the Youngs compete again, so I hope they are back this year.
I think there is another novice team for EGL/Mids...Alexis Hauser and Nathan Truesdale.

Then I stand corrected regarding Bernie. I also would love to see the Youngs back, but I have only read fairly shaky rumors on this board and others, so don't really know.

ok,
I know you only want "for sure" names on the list
but I did hear that Will Chitwood will skate Novice dance with Christina Chitwoood this season as well. Another team for SW/Mids. if true.
Will was doing very well in Pairs though, so I am not 100% sure about this.

Mr Ford is in Canada. And, ASAIK, he will never work with the Youngs again. I'm not really sure why these two keep flirting with the idea of competing again. My guess is that Ikaika missed it. I think that Kakani was the more competitve of the two, but she's also borderline freaky genuis and could very well be the next president of the united states for all we know. My bet is that she gets talked back into training and then remebers "oh yea, I don't really NEED this anymore"

The Youngs were National champions(junior level) and had a very unique look and style.
I hope they do decide to compete again. Nobody "needs" skating.
But I hope they enjoy the sport enough that we get to see them compete again.

WeBe: The Youngs were National champions at the novice level in 1999, I believe, then 5th at junior in 2000 (I can't find results from these two years, so please correct me if I'm wrong), and 3rd at junior in 2001, before they moved up to senior. They never won junior.

Will Chitwood continues to skate pairs with Aaryn Smith as well as doing dance with sister Christina. At Broadmoor Open Will and Aaryn were awarded the Jack Might trophy for the outstanding freeskate by a Novice competitor. This was the first time this trophy went to a pair team. Will and Aaryn won the Novice short and long programs. Will went on to win Novice dance with Christina. Will and Aaryn plan to compete Novice pairs at Indy and Will and Christina will compete in Novice dance. Busy guy.

however, i was waiting to hear from you regarding to the question i pm'd you when you first made the announcement before adding your names. it's been a while, and my tracking says my message is still unread.
it is regarding something i heard in reference to usfsa and last year's nationals.
so you are saying you're certain you can register for regionals?

In terms of raw talent, I dont think there is a junior level man out there to top Jonathon Harris.
He hasnt developed that talent as well as some of the more successful juniors, but I have him on a few videos, and each time I watch I think IF he ever finds the right partner, coach, and financial solutions he could be world class.
good luck Jon!
