It wouldn't take that long to load if the background image was smaller than 691k 8O Holy cow!

Might also want to reconsider putting multiple 50k photos on the front page.

That may work on the computer of someone with a high-speed connection, but there are still those out there with 56k dial-ups (or worse). Those people will never see this site, because there's no way they'll wait for a 691k background image to download.
