I have a few ?s for the coaches here:
1. Are you an employee or independent contractor at the places you teach?
2. Are you employed/contracted by the rink or the club?
3. If you are contracted, especially by a club, what does your contract say about workmen's comp?
An insurance agent has convinced our last treasurer that we need workmen's comp for our coaches that teach our learn to skate classes, even though they are independent contractors. I don't think this is true. What is the arrangement at your rink?
Feel free to PM me or email jdelmar@kent.edu if you do not wish to discuss on the board. Thanks in advance,
Jocelyn
