The Canadian GP assignments have been changed. Fedor is now competing at Lalique and Michelle Currie AND Bellemare at Skate America.

Here is the link to the changed assignments:

And the article...

Maybe this means that W/F and L/F will get assignments, too.

Fedor has always had Lalique AND Currie has always had America ;)

W/F and L/F both cannot be assigned to any events aside from Skate Canada, because of the ISU's new policy of skaters HAVING to be on the ISU World Standings in order to get any Grand Prix events. The exception is that Canada still had the option to give them Skate Canada, where the three teams can be any three of their choosing, whether they are on the rankings or not.

Uh, no, for awhile SA did not have any Canadian female skaters assigned to it. Sorry to see L&T off the roster-guess she is still injured.:(

It's ashame there's still no Candian entrant in the men's field at Skate America or the ladies field at Trophee Lalique

What? I saved the lists from the day they were published and both ladies were definitely on the roster for Skate America. Maybe you mean the men, who still don't have an entry, like roogu mentioned.

I don't know about the ladies' skaters, but I printed out the men's rosters on June 1st, and Fedor was listed for Lalique at that time.

The Skate Canada listing used to be different...does no one remember the kerfuffle about Andreev not getting an assignment?

It should be interesting to see whether Currie or Bellemare comes out on top at Skate America.

Actually Annes, I think that what made people mad was that he didn't have TWO events, while Ben did. :)

I don't understand. Obertas and her new partner got assignments, including Skate Canada...they're a new team. So why can't Lee and Faustino or W/F????!!! This hardly seems fair.

As well, how will new teams ever get GP assignments if they lack a JGP ranking like Piperno/Dougherty?

We don't even know how Lee/Faustino and Wakamatsu/Fecteau are as a pair yet ....... I'm sure summer monitoring will come into play.
