When a skater does a spread eagle either on the inside or outside edge, their body leans towards the middle of the circle(when they do one in a circle). I was wondering if it was possible to do one with the body leaning on the outside of the circle? I'm not talking about a cantilever spread eagle. Here's an example. A regular spread eagle with an inside or outside edge kinda makes the shape of a lamp shade facing downward like so: http://www.mullingarpewter.com/p146.jpg. I was wondering if it's possible to do a spread eagle, either inside or outside, making the shape of a lamp shade facing upward like so: http://dns1.tokyolease.co.jp/photo/lamp9581FB37x181.JPG or even better, a bowl http://www.asecretadmirer.com/Crystal/Carat%20Bowl%20300X225.JPG. So that means that with the outside spread eagle, they'd be making their circle in front of them and with an inside spread eagle, they'd be making the circle behind them. If it's possible, I would think that that would be extremely difficult to do and impressive. I think in terms of it being aesthetically pleasing, the outside version would look better than an inside version(though the inside could be harder). I find the normal inside spread eagle to look prettier than the outside personally eventhough the outside is the harder of the two.

If I understand what you're trying to say, then no, that's not possible. The direction you travel in depends on what edge you are on, so you can't be on an outside edge but leaning outside the circle or vice versa.

If you leant outside the circle(ie. forwards), while you were doing an outside spread eagle, you would switch onto the inside edge.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm talking about. So it's impossible then to keep make the same circle when you switch the edge. Thanks.

On the o0ther hand, if you bend your knees and lean your upper body back as Ilia Klimkin does, you can do it. But you can't in a classic upright position.
